It seems very likely my group will be arriving at van Richten's Tower, and it's been awhile since they've run into Strahd or any of his lackeys, plus they just got the Holy Icon of Ravenloft from Argynvostholt. I like the idea of having Rahadin come and negotiate for the item, lay siege to the tower, etc...

My main concern is I don't want to come off as just undercutting the players' achievements. They just got a cool new thing. I think it could come off as me punishing them, being unfair, etc...

How do you walk the line of playing the villains while also not "overplaying your hand"?

TL;DR: Party needs some components to remove a werewolf curse from a member, and now they're standing outside the den with the werewolves at full alert and aware of their presence. Unsure how I should present the Kiril vs Emil struggle without overplaying the cartoonishly evil goals of either side, as well as what Kiril would ask for in exchange for helping the party obtain the items to remove the curse.

Throughout the campaign, the party has largely ignored a lot of the big red arrows pointing them to the werewolf den, e.g. missing children, reports of increased attacks on the road, rumors of trouble within the pack internally, etc... but in a recent session, the wizard of the party was

I've lost count of how many time I've tried and failed to get a photo of this goddamn bear. Every time I go to Layton, I give it a shot, and every time is a bust.

He's sitting in a little divot surrounded by tall grass, and even when I get within 30 meters of him which is about as close as I dare because I'm crawling up blind with no idea if he's calm or alert, he takes off as soon as I stand up, then is quickly gone behind even more tall grass. I've taken dozens of pictures of him running away and none have counted. I'm pulling my damn hair out over this.

How are other people completing this?

I think just about everyone has spoken outloud to themselves in moments of frustration. Or even just singing stupid songs or goofy gibberish when we're feeling silly.

For some reason, the idea of a deaf person signing to themselves seems weird to me, despite the fact that it's essentially the same thing.

I'm just trying to complete some achievements and any suggestions you have for creating the custom team would be appreciated!

I would like for a decent balance between power and ability to push/pull units. Sometimes the teams I make are super powerful, but lack the battlefield control, and I get stuck in situations where I might be forced to damage buildings/objectives because of placement. Then I also have problems with teams that can control well, but I don't have enough damage output and get overwhelmed and start losing civilians/objectives.

So, I'm about 20 runs deep into the game and feel like I'm hitting a little bit of a wall. I can fairly reliably get to Elysium, but once I do, I eventually fail. Haven't even gotten to the final boss there yet.

I'm trying not to stress about it too much since I'm still working on unlocking everything, so it's not even like I have all of the necessary tools at my disposal or even met everyone yet.

Obviously, I've unlocked all of the weapons, and I just unlocked the 10 key talents on the mirror. Slowly chipping away at keepsakes (nectar seems pretty rare, and often I feel like it's necessary to prioritize those, though sometimes it feels like it's at the cost of a run ending earlier). I've

I bought the game recently, and I'm loving it, but I can't get over how clunky the controls feel. I honestly feel like over 50% of my deaths are due to the unfamiliar control scheme.

I'm very comfortable with WASD movement, but using the arrows is completely awkward. Also using C for dash and shift for grab makes my hand ache pretty quickly.

I feel like getting a controller would 100% solve these issues, but I don't really play anything else that I need a controller for, so I don't really wanna spend the money on an accessory for one game, particularly when the accessory would be more expensive than the game itself.

The other option is making custom keybinds which I've experimented with

So, Covid has put my area in a lockdown, and I decided to get back into SDV after a nearly year long break.

The resources in the new player FAQ sticky has been enormously helpful, but one thing I noticed is that many of them are out of date, and it is impossible to find a good table comparing the RoI for artisan products.

For the most part, what I've found is largely unsurprising as far as the numbers go. Preserves are generally the way to go for most veggies, juice or wine for fruits. Some slight differences in efficiency depending on if you have the time and space to turn them into artisan products, but mostly negligible differences.

What really surprised me is the flowers. At first gl
