After standing up huggingface's speech-to-speech pipeline (https://github.com/huggingface/speech-to-speech) I'm really impressed with it's performance! The little demo app works alright, and pointing the pipeline to a reasonably smart model like Deepseek V4 Flash on my dual-spark cluster seems genuinely useful, but it seems like there are not a lot of clients for this setup yet.

Open-WebUI doesn't support it, although there is a fork of open-webui https://github.com/rbb-dev/open-webui/pkgs/container/open-webui-realtime that I may try, but don't really want to go down the fork-route for a major part of my stack.

I feel crazy, but our van has had two Maxxair fans on the roof now and I continually have an issue with the wire mesh bug screen on the interior getting sucked into the fan and rubbing. We run the fan in exhaust most of the time, and it seems like over time the screen will just get stretched enough to make contact with the fan blades.

Our new fan which has probably been in use less than 100 hours just started doing it with a brand new screen. Looking for a longer term solution to this - I've tried loosening the fan and pushing it up as high as it would go to create more clearance, and the way the cover is mounted to the housing I can't see a way of shimming it.

Someone tell me I'm not alo

I’m not particularly great at doing the regular maintenance on our van, but it’s that time of year again where I at least clean the roof and inspect it. It’s an E-Series van and we’re using a MaxxAir fan, which we sealed with both butyl tape and Dicor self-leveling lap sealant. Over the years I’ve done an additional layer of lap sealant over the first layer, partially because I didn’t know what I was doing. I don’t care how it looks, but I’m curious how I should be properly “resealing” since scraping all the lap sealant looks like a huge job. Is just doing another layer on top of the existing layer workable? Should I be just spot checking the existing seal for cracks and applying only to are

Is it possible to limit the Elite 200 V2’s AC charging current to below -6.6a it will pull during silent charging mode? I see in a manual there is a feature called Adjust Grid Input Current that looks like it would do this but it’s not explained well and I haven’t bought the unit yet.

What I’m trying to do is limit the charging current to, say, 3A (ideally 2.5A but I suspect it wouldn’t do half amps) because I have a 15A circuit that will have other high power draw items on it from time to time and I want to ensure I don’t trip the circuit breaker. The power station I am replacing has a 300W charging mode that works well for my application and I don’t need 800W of charging.

Trying to get Tailscale SSH set up via the latest Tailscale plugin on 7.0.1. All other features of tailscale, including funnel, are working great but I get a `permission denied` error even with super permissive ACLs. I have Tailscale SSH enabled on my Unraid server I'm trying to reach (it's the only machine in my Tailnet configured this way), it's tagged correctly, and I can access it via tailscale (including using non-tailscale SSH).

My understanding is the if tailscale SSH was blocking the connection it would say `permission denied (tailscale)` but that's not the error I get.

Anyone run into this?

tl;dr - On my Windows 11 machine with Fast Startup disabled, shutting down from the GUI causes the machine to behave differently than performing a `shutdown.exe /s /t 00` or or `stop-computer` and I'm trying to understand this.

===== Long Version =====

I am trying to solve a weird mystery on my Windows 11 PC. I use Apollo (a Sunshine fork) to stream this PC to various other devices in the house, and use wake on LAN from S5, as well as Sleep-on-LAN to execute a `shutdown.exe /s /t 00`. I just like a clean boot every time, and this machine boots so fast I don't see a lot of disadvantages (except one... read on!).

My issue is I noticed that Ap

Tried hooking my M1 iPad Air up to my 4K TV the other day and noticed that I couldn’t make the Retroarch window full screen when using stage manager (not mirroring). I could drag the window to make it fill the top and bottom of the screen, and Retroarch seemed to scale to the resolution appropriately, but scaling the window was tedious and the desktop background is still visible. Using mirroring seemed to default to the resolution of my iPad which was not ideal, and I use Stage Manager for other things. Is there a trick to doing this?

Tried hooking my M1 iPad Air up to my TV the other day and noticed that I couldn’t make the Retroarch window full screen on the external display (the TV). Stage Manager was on, and the resolution scaling (4K TV) looked good, but having to manually resize the window and still see my desktop background was a little annoying. I tried mirroring but it seemed to not scale the resolution properly to the external display. Is there a trick I’m missing? Didn’t see anything obvious in the settings.

Spent today getting OpenMenu running on my GDEmu and getting my VM2 updated the latest firmware so that OpenMenu can automatically create and load virtual memory cards on the VM2 and it’s incredible how well it works. Each game gets its own card, it happens like magic and I don’t have to think about saves anymore. For games with huge save files (7th Cross Evolution) making a second card is easy since each game gets its own folder so you can easily flip between memory cards for a single game without scrolling through a huge list. So well thought out. I know the VM2 is crazy expensive and hard to find but I can’t recommend it enough when it comes back in stock.

Using an HKT-7300 (green goblin) arcade stick with my Dreamcast to play Soul Caliber and I notice that the third costume for characters I’ve unlocked them for don’t activate with Y+A on the arcade stick (or any other button combo) but they do on an OEM controller. The game detects the sticks properly, they’re real DC sticks. Is this a known issue or am I crazy?

Just started using SNAC/SNAX recently for the PS1 core and I was thinking of trying to find a simple media pc remote for MiSTer to navigate the menus / commit saves to disk.

Already using a keyboard for this but it lacks a function lock and I honestly just need a dpad and a few buttons. Anyone have a solution they like?

I’m trying to come up with an optimal 2p SNAX setup for the PSX core on my MiSTer. I have Porkchop’s SNAX adapter (but need to buy a second PSX adapter cable) and an official multitap and was hoping to just be able to use the multitap on SNAC port 1 and get 2p support as well as real memory card support (for a Memcard Pro 2) but the game I was testing with (Bushido Blade) doesn’t see P2 via the multitap.

I am using official PS2 controllers as well, so perhaps that’s an issue or is this expected? Is the multitap not supported for all games?

Contacted CL customer support for an unrelated billing issue and they told me I need to migrate to Quantum (first I'd heard of it). My understanding is that Quantum uses IPOE vs PPOE and and a different ONT.

I'm using a very reliable Ubiquiti setup (USG) and do not want to change it - is running the Quantum gear in bridge mode with your own router something that is relatively common / well understood at this point? I understand I won't get support from Quantum.
