I'm a short guy who struggles to find workwear trousers the right length. I got some "extra short" trousers from amazon as I know screwfix don't do my length and honestly, I feel like MC Hammer!

Does anyone know where you can get decent length workwear trousers for short people?

Hi all,

I'm 35 and just started foundation level 2, next year I go onto level 2 progression and have been told I can't be qualified until level 3 and the only way to get level 3 is through an apprenticeship.

Is this true? I'm struggling with apprenticeships due to my age. If I can't get one what's the best way to work around this to get a level 3?

Thanks in advance

Cutting doors?

home improvement

I’ve had door jambs installed recently and they’ve made the existing hole smaller. The door sizes we want are 762mm wide and 1981mm high. My new doorway is between 715mm - 707mm wide and height is 1970mm to original floorboards (we will be adding carpets)

My question is how much am I allowed to cut from the door? Also with the top measuring 715mm and bottom measuring 705mm can I cut it at a slight angle so there’s not a huge gap at the top. Also I think the doors are the hollow ones.

I’ve taken 2 rads off this week and they have remained off as I am having my rooms plastered. I had issues with the trvs and had to replace them. I’ve got no leaks as far as I can see.

The pressure is dropping ever so slightly throughout the day and I mean I only really know because I’ve marked on the pressure gauge with pencil to keep track of it.

Would it be dropping because of the removed rads? Also would the trv leak air slowly?

Sorry if it’s a dumb question

I’ve been knocking the god awful black mortar render and plaster off my kids bedroom this week. As I was doing the wall me and my neighbour share, I came across a lintel which goes from the kids room and into my bedroom. You can tell there was something there just by the way the bricks look.

I’m just wondering if this was a common thing for semi detached buildings many years ago and why is it there? Was it for the builders or was at something they did back then.

My house is located in what was once a mining village and dates back to early 1900s

Was due to work on Saturday but the place of business is closed. Other colleagues have been allowed to take the time off paid but I’m told that they I owe them time and will have to work another Saturday.

They are a large business and have me working in other locations. Is it right that I owe them the time even though I am ready to work my contracted hours

Hi all, sorry if it’s been asked a million times but my high e string buzzes like a bitch and it’s pissing me off.

Spoke to a colleague at work and he said my action sounds like it might be too high, would this be an issue? I’ve got a cheap acoustic from Amazon but it’s doing the job and getting me into actually playing a guitar for once.

How can I stop it? I’m finally playing a song but it sounds crap as the string just buzzes and makes it sound awful. I’m near the fret when pushing on the string, I’ve used different finger placements but they all sound the same and also it’s definitely tuned

Has anyone ever bought upscale windows and installed them? I’m trying to save money as I’ve just had a quote for a £1000 for two windows!

What sites have you used? B&Q and Screwfix don’t have my window sizes

Anyone on here driving to Anfield? If you are where are you parking? I've just been on app I use for parking near stadiums and the all range from £35 to £55!

December 2022 I went to court as a victim of assault. The person was found not guilty.

I've just received an email from PayPal, the person has sent me a request of funds to pay for his legal fees after being wrongfully accused (his words) and I have 7 days to pay or he will be taking me to county court.

The trial finished in December 2022, I've not received any formal letters from his solicitors or any courts. What do I do about it? Can this person still claim and will I have to pay?
