Personally after the driver comments after P&Q I'm just so confused as to what package would be best for the drivers to complain the least and the racing the be top notch. I remember Mark Martin saying the other day how aero tight didn't exist in the early 90s (that's another question I have, when did that change???).

Other than the a few short tracks and road courses, the current package feels fantastic. Though I do agree Phoenix shouldn't be the finale (or at the very least do a rotation of some kind)

I'll hit my 50th NASCAR race weekend attended in person sometime in 2024. I was going back and creating a log of all of my attended races and I came across a pretty interesting tidbit for anyone who cares.

I've seen 44 Cup races to date in person, and I've seen EVERY active Cup driver win in person at least once except for one.... Brad Keselowski.

As a lifelong Mark Martin fan, I would be euphoric to be able to experience his first win in the 6 in person.

I'd be curious to see if anyone has any funny situations like this or anything else interesting they'd like to share about the drivers they've seen win in person. Second fun fact, I saw all 4 of Alex Bowman's season wins in person in 20

If you take a look at the list of closest all time finishes in NASCAR Cup history, you'll see number 30 currently is the 1997 Pepsi 400, where John Andretti beat Terry Labonte by allegedly 0.029 seconds. The page for this race on racing reference backs this margin of victory claim up.

However, just taking one look at the finish of that race you don't need much common sense to see that MOV was NOWHERE near how close it is listed in the record books. For instance, the 2005 Atlanta finish between Edwards and Johnson is the next closest finish at 0.

Is it 350 LAPS or MILES? Do we know for sure?

350 laps around the 0.875 mile track would be 306.25 miles

350 miles would be 400 laps

I personally hope it's the second choice because I prefer longer races but with the recent trends I wouldn't be surprised if it was the former. 50 laps may seem like a pedantic figure to worry about for a 300+ lap race, but it's the offseason and I need to solve every mystery I have

Hi all,

I'm heading to Daytona to enjoy my second ever Speedweek after 2021, and the idea of perhaps camping on their facility just came to me a little too late in the game as they're sold out for "regular" slots (aka just a car with maybe a tent).

Anyhow, does anybody have any similar alternatives they've used nearby or are using this year? Proximity to the track doesn't necessarily matter a ton to me especially if I'm staying multiple nights I won't be worried about how long it takes to get out. Just feeling things out to see if I can save some money before I just go ahead and confirm a more traditional/expensive stay instead. Thanks!

He's been radio silent on twitter since June 5 right after the Cup race basically. Not in Sonoma with Mike Joy and no mention of him that I can remember during today's practice/qualifying. Is he just on vaca or sick or did something more sus happen?

Hey all,

I tried commenting in the mega thread from earlier in the week but it got buried. I have a few quick questions about the entry policies. We have a parking pass for lot 1B and tickets in section H. Our plan was to get there right around 6am and walk around the inside of the facility and perhaps go to the museum. A few questions:

- is there re-entry in and out of the speedway? Ideally we'd like to walk around early in the morning inside without our coolers and what not, then scan out, walk back to our car to grab our stuff and scan back in closer to race time. 6 hours is a long time to carry a full cooler around.

- what areas if any are we able to walk around in the infield area

We're going to the Cup race tomorrow. Generally my girlfriend likes getting the intercom RE headsets because it allows me to explain things to her and the in-car audio also helps her keep up. We unfortunately missed the cutoff this week to rent them, so we were considering using our AirPods Pro with noise cancelling to have the radio feed playing through the app for us.

Has anyone tried using their AirPods in this capacity? Is the noise cancellation remotely comparable to say a cheap pair of foam earplugs to make this a viable option? Any alternate suggestions are welcomed too. Thanks

Was there a driver who filled in for him and finished the race? If so, who? Is there even any concrete evidence of what lap during the race he made this decision? Maybe I'm overthinking it and just haven't done enough digging to find the answers. I know obviously whoever starts the race gets credited for it in the points, and I reckon drivers getting out during races wasn't completely uncommon back then. It's just a quirk of knowledge that my NASCAR-obsessed brain doesn't yet have the answer to and it's bugging me.

I just watched the top 10 2021 moments along with the Kevin Harvick one where they discussed what happened in 2017, and Mike made a comment about how up to that point, Harvick was one of a handful of people who he thought would never come onto the show.

I'm sure Teresa is at the very top of the list and it's the only person they seem to go out of their way to avoid talking about as much as possible. Are there any others that might be overlooked? I'll be honest I didn't realize the Harvick issue cut as deeply as it did, and he would've never crossed my mind as someone Junior had beef with until I remembered that situation from 2017.

He's had just about every relevant party in his dad's acc
