Top edit: I see some things in Gmail, under the dedicated chat label, but still not ideal.

Edit 2: ok, so my below complaint about hangouts website appears outdated too? Maybe being on that old version of the mobile app was holding me back? Hangouts website actually looks more useful now, wonder how outdated my knowledge was.

Still annoyed the conversation stuff isn't in the mobile client, but at least nothing was lost.

Initial post after this break:

I've had hangouts update before, but don't remember losing any content.

Isn't it stored online anyway, not just locally?

Any thoughts?

This affects two of my accounts on the same device.

Porting took 30-45m, and didn't need the zip code. Was challenging to find the pin number. The account number was my phone number. Didn't need a voicemail pin set.

I'll be keeping my fpop account without a phone number, since I use gv anyways. Just annoying to use the 3g sim because I have to add +1 to my contacts.

When relocating the service, what equipment should we keep? Modem/router/ap is model something 599 or 995.

Will the apartment equipment be different? Would it already be lit?

We have a small Telco panel in a closet with the terminated fiber connector that's apparently ready. Any chance we could self install?

Any chance moving the service location will affect billing? We have an advantageous situation currently..

Also no TV service.

I've not played with any alternative means to access gv calling, but am vaguely aware of the almost standard VoIP support Google uses?

Anyways, my actual question: Can the Android os' native phone dialer app [version 8.0.148481159] be used for Google voice via SIP?

It has a setting for SIP accounts buried in the 3-dot menu - settings - calls - calling accounts [sip settings]. This appears new and is quite unfamiliar. Is it maybe related to carrier features like VoLTE/HD voice/wifi calling and I'm confused, or is it intended for users to configure?

[Ditto for voicemail, I guess- less to configure there though.]

has anyone ever seen this? i saw a website on a minivan today that lead to a 404 page, but they had a link to a demonstration referral landing page.

it said something like free wireless if you refer 3 people and one of them pays.

I'm not interested in participating in any of these shenanigans, but I'm curious if anyone has ever encountered that or has more insight into that business model.

the companies name was a musical term, regarding speed.

title describes the most recent chapter of this saga, I'll detail it all more fully if anyone's curious. the issue is related to failed ports on a new vzw account, cancelling those, and merging accounts into a new account. basically an unnecessary issue that I've help create.

my basic concern is not being able to complete the 'repurchase' at the black Friday deal price. [and the 100$ bb gc not being sent.]

I'm tempted to simply let it work itself out, because I trust bby & vzw's ability to find me and get paid. but I'd prefer to pay them off before that point.

I've already worked with bby online order support on the phone, and bby's mobile backoffice. they seem surprised vzw can't cor
