My friends and I are all console gamers. I want to play the best friendslop games the world has to offer with my friends. I have very little PC building/modding experience, limited to following iFixIt tutorials to replace HDDs with SSDs and install new batteries in old Macbooks.

How challenging is this type of build for basically a complete novice? Is it crazy to attempt, let alone try and build four for myself and my friends?

I'd appreciate your feedback and advice!

I was driving through a mountain pass (Snoqualmie) with Highway Driving Assist enabled somewhere around 73 mph. For a solid five minutes or so, the car was in electric mode and regenerating power downhill, filling the battery. After noticing a bit of power loss during an uphill section, I saw the battery was quickly falling under 50% but the drivetrain would not switch to the internal combustion engine. Changing drive mode to Sport did nothing, and my tachometer still showed 0.0 RPM. Realizing I couldn't accelerate and my speed was falling dramatically (40 mph in a stretch where folks easily break 80 mph), I moved over the shoulder, stopped, and turned the car off and back on. Absolutely love everything about the experience but every show or movie has a noticeable amount of audio latency that I don't experience when watching the same media on Plex or Infuse. Anyone know if there's something I can do on my end to fix the issue?

My USB-A port has been a bit finicky since I got the car (pre-owned, no certified warranty), but recently has been dropping connection multiple times on short drives, with both a USB-C cable and wireless CarPlay adapter.

It's driving me crazy enough to pay to have it replaced, but I'd first love to know if replacing the port has solved this problem for others.

I got a cheap 5.1 set up from Craigslist a few years ago with some tiny old plastic Sony speakers that probably came from a surround dvd system, and a Yamaha YST-SW012 subwoofer.

Looking to upgrade now, and I found some used Definitive Technology ProMonitor100 mkii bookshelves w/stands and a center on Craigslist. The seller also has a couple of Supercube subs, the SC 2000 and SC 4000. I was just going to pickup the bookshelves and center for $160 but now I'm wondering if it's worth a couple hundred more to replace the Yamaha sub.

Thoughts?

I use a D3400 at work, and I'm looking for some faster prime lenses to upgrade from the 18-55mm kit lens. I primarily use the camear for portraits, however sometimes I've shot photos on the wider end (24mm or wider) to include multiple subjects at a table or to capture an entire room.

I budgeted $300 for two used lenses:

  • Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
  • Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G

I'm now wondering if I'd be better replacing one of those options with something on the wider end. At which focal length do you think I would get the best bang for my buck by going prime? Would it be better to go with primes for the portraits or swapping one of those for a wide-angle lens? Is there eve
