On the web site it shows the Thor screen protector in two pieces but what I got was only the top screen protector. Am I meant to get something for the bottom screen as well? Because I ordered two SPs and in both of them I only got the top screen protector. There's nothing protecting the bottom.

Ordered my Thor Rainbow Max on March 5 just before the price hike was about to kick in. No movement. I thought the accessories I ordered with it might be out of stock and holding up the order. I got the Thor accessories pack, an additional Thor screen protector (the accessories pack already includes one), and a screen protector for the Odin 3 (I need to replace the original).

Got my Portal today and turned it on for the first time. Mine is a Max, 16GB/1TB.

The device thinks it's a 2TB device with 50% used. Is this normal? Technically, 50% of 2TB is 1TB available but it's still weird.

Also, there's a system update, but I'm wary of system updates because sometimes they introduce new issues while fixing others. Is there any concerns I should know about? The O3 update breaks HDR to fix mura issues which my device didn't have, so I'm still on default firmware.

It says on the ayn site that the sale ends Feb 25, but the prices are still the same prices even today.

Anyone know when the sale ends and the price goes back up?

I want to order one, but I the screen protector is always sold out. I'm holding off on the order until I can find the SP in stock. I saw it back in stock a couple of times weeks ago but didn't pull the trigger. Now I'm worried the sale will end before the screen protector is back.

I know you can buy 3rd party ones but they're significantly more expensive.

So I've been out of the loop for a while. I heard there were screen uniformity issues at low brightness and for some people even at higher brightness.

I also heard AYN released an OTA update that fixes it by doing something stupid and as a result making the screen look even worse.

I followed the test here and must have lucked out. At 10% brightness, I did not notice any mura. Everything looked uniform.

Knowing that, should I reject the OTA update at stay on original firmware?

I'm thinking of buying either a Thor or O2P before their prices go up. I originally had planned on skipping both devices and waiting for O3 Portal or Thor 2 with a newer SoC but the way things are going, that's in doubt, or it's going to be expensive. I fear for the future of the handheld industry.

I see that they are both the same price for the same RAM and storage. But due to the current sale on O2P I was surprised to see that the MSRP for O2P is actually higher than for the Thor despite the Thor having two screens. Which means at the same price, you're saving more money buying the O2P.

Before my Odin 3 arrived, I'd read reports from multiple users that the screen protector had a design flaw and that bubbles would form, and they ended up removing the screen protector and going "naked". One person purchased a spare, and both were ruined by bubbles and removed.

When I got mine, sure enough, my screen protector also had irremovable bubbles under the screen portion. Scraping it with a credit card would not get rid of them. Each bubble wasn't just a big bubble. It was a big bubble with a halo around it. That halo being a ring of very small holes, making it even harder to flatten out.

I'm looking for a device with modern chip (SD 8 Gen 2 or newer) that puts the d-pad above the left stick. I'm not interested in brands like Anbernic or Powkiddy who sell cheaper products with outdated chips. I want something powerful, but with d-pad on top.

The only one I've found is Retroid pocket but their screens are no bigger than 5.5". Aya and AYN put the stick on top.

This question has been burning in my mind for over 30 years now. But I never got around to asking about it.

They used to default to WEBM when there were multiple videos allowed. Ever since last week when youtube broke JD and required an update to JD to get YT working again, it stopped defaulting videos to WEBM and now it's MP4 instead which has much larger file sizes than WEBM. Is there a way to tell it to default back to WEBM? At the moment I've been manually changing every video to WEBM which is tedious when there's a lot of them.

I don't want to disable other formats because WEBM is not always available on every video.

I installed my new 77" C5 today and I notice if I touch the screen, the screen wobbles. This is quite concerning. My old C1 was more stable than this. (It is not wall mounted obviously)

Did I not screw it in right, or is this normal? I'm very afraid the TV will tip over.

If I don't touch it, it is fine. But if I touch the screen, especially the top part, it wobbles quite a bit.

I replaced my broken C1 for a C5. I begged them to let me keep the old remote (which was full sized), the salesman let me but the courier did not. They said I had to give back the remote. I was sad because the new remote is a small one with very few buttons, which takes longer to do things because you have to navigate on screen menus instead of having direct shortcuts there in the form of a button. I can get used to this, but the one who is using it is my elderly mother who is computer literate and can't even read english. She will have a hard time navigating the TV's functions with the new remote.
