For those who already own a pair, what are you actually using them for day to day? Are they genuinely useful enough to justify buying them now, or are they still more of a nice-to-have? Would love to hear from people who’ve actually been using them for a while. Still happy with the purchase, or would you wait?

I’ve never really been interested in smart glasses with cameras. They always seemed like something that would be cool to try but probably wouldn’t become part of my everyday life. The G2 is a bit different though. No camera, and it seems more focused on actually being useful while you’re working or going about your day. Now I’m wondering if this type of smart glasses is going to become a lot more common over the next year or two. Do you guys think we’ll start seeing people wearing things like G2 regularly in 2027, or is it still going to be a pretty niche thing?
This is purely a theoretical question, I’ve already finished all my education and I’m working now, so I’m not planning to try this myself. I was just thinking about the teleprompter feature. In theory, if someone prepared the answers beforehand and paired that with the Ring for controlling things, could they basically have the answers available in the glasses during an exam?
Glad some smart glasses are choosing not to add cameras

futurism.comI am honestly losing my mind here. I tried setting up a morning sunrise routine where my blinds slowly open to wake me up naturally. The idea was great, but the execution is a nightmare.
I bought some cheap retrofit chain motors on Aliexpress a while ago. They literally sound like a tiny power drill going off right next to my head. Instead of waking up to natural light, I am jolted awake by a grinding mechanical noise. It completely defeats the whole purpose of a gentle wake up.
My wife hates them (the WAF is currently at zero) and told me to just put regular curtains back up.
Does anyone have recommendations for smart blinds that run quietly? I need something for the master bedroom that
Hi, I’m on the hunt for a good pair of white linen pants for an upcoming trip, but I’m really struggling to find the right pair. I’ve tried a few stores online, but I’m disappointed by how see through they are. You can see the shape of the pockets and underwear, and it’s just not something I feel comfortable wearing.
Does anyone have suggestions for brands that offer quality, not see through white linen pants?
They don’t even have to be linen if they have that comfy, breathable summer material. I’m open to all price ranges, and if there are good secondhand options, I’d be open to those too!
Would really appreciate any recommendations!
Hey,
I’m looking into getting a portable fridge for my overlanding setup. We love cooking when we’re out, not just snacks — so something 30L or bigger would be ideal.
Problem is, I’m not ready to drop ARB/Dometic-level cash. Most of the ones I see are 12V, which is fine, but the prices vary wildly and it’s hard to tell what’s actually good without first-hand experience.
Any solid budget-friendly options out there that you’ve used and would recommend? I’d rather not deal with something that dies in 6 months.
Thanks in advance for any leads!
Is it bad marketing? Or is there something about USB-C bandwidth or port type that I’m not understanding?
I’m trying to get a clean dual monitor setup going (two 4K,) with my MacBook air m3, and I don’t want to drop money on a dock that says “4K” but ends up looking like a stretched-out YouTube thumbnail.
If you’ve got a dock that’s reliably giving you full 4K at 60Hz — especially on Mac — I’d love to know which one. Also curious if anyone’s dealt with these “fake 4K” docks and what actually causes the issue. Bad HDMI port version? Misleading specs?
Thanks in advance. My eyes just want sharp text.
You know, with ADHD, my mind jumps around a lot. Lately, I’ve been trying to figure out how to learn and get info in quick, bite-sized chunks.
I’ve been weirdly into learning without trying lately like apps or content that teach you something useful in under 5 minutes. Could be news, random facts, history, AI stuff, whatever as long as it’s short and feels kinda productive.
What apps or tools do you use that give you that tiny daily brain boost?
Hey all,
I recently got a Kia EV5 (from my brother) and I’m looking to install a dashcam in it. I’ve always driven gas cars before this, so I’m used to tapping into the fuse box to get parking mode working.
But I’ve heard that EVs tend to have smaller 12V batteries compared to ICE vehicles, and I’m a bit worried it might drain too quickly if I leave the dash cam running while parked.
Anyone here using parking mode on their dash cam with an EV? How do you have it set up, and have you had any battery issues?
Thanks!
