I'm 40yo, I was diagnosed with ER-PR- DCIS, and had my lumpectomy & bilateral reduction about 3 weeks ago, pathology came back with great margins and clear lymph nodes, and a smaller area than estimated in imaging. 🥳🙌

Starting about 4 years ago, I have had awful genitourinary syndrome symptoms. Countless UTIs, vaginal infections, external burning without infection, and vaginal tears. It took about 3yrs of suffering and even showing vaginal tears to my gyno, to finally give up and get vaginal estrogen from a virtual provider. I stopped getting UTIs and vaginal infections completely. My external burning is cured as long as I use it regularly, if I don't use it for ~4 weeks, the burning comes

I have left breast DCIS grade 3. I went through multiple mammograms, 2 biopsies, an MRI, and I just did my pre-op appointments and my surgery is scheduled for next week.

Today I went in to get Savi-Scout markers inserted, which is a mammo-guided procedure. It was awful though because I had a vasovagal response, my previous biopsies were on the lie-flat tables. For this, I had to be seated and pushed into the mammogram machine. I felt woozy as soon as the lidocaine went in (no epinephrine in it, but I have anxiety anyways). I had a needle in me and they couldn't lie me down, raise my legs, nothing like that. They were fanning me, putting ice packs all over me, cold cloths, in honesty they di

Hope this is acceptable to ask, I am an active user in r/breastcancer but I wanted to see what people who want****ed a breast reduction have experienced.

I look like a lot of everyone's before pictures. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and have to decide between a lumpectomy with a bilateral breast reduction, or a full mastectomy. I'm not here to ask about mastectomies or for medical advice, my doctors are taking great care of me. What I'm here for is the emotional side of this, no matter what I decide, this isn't a path I've chosen for myself. I've always loved my large breasts and they're my favorite part of my body, really the only part I like. I know I have to g

I had a tough week, recently diagnosed, very attached to my breasts, MRI this week came back with a larger area of DCIS than originally thought. Grade 3, so everything is being expedited, AND I have to do another biopsy which I had a tough time with just a couple weeks ago.

Luckily I live right next to a touristy area. I look up a resort with a lazy river and book it for this weekend, prior to even knowing about the 2nd biopsy, but I want to swim this summer and relax for a weekend. I'm at the resort and go to the spa. I get a pedicure from this nice woman. We're making conversation and I end up bringing up the breast cancer. She's really nice and funny and we're having a good ti

I have DCIS grade 3, ER-PR- (no HER2 testing) in my left breast. I'm waiting to speak to the radiation oncologist to fully understand the risks, but I met with the breast surgeon and she was saying that because I have large breasts and rashes under my breasts, that health insurance would approve a breast reduction, so I could get a lumpectomy then a breast reduction to even out my breasts. She didn't really discuss mastectomy or double mastectomy other than to say it only increases my survival chances by 2%.

My family is also pressuring me a bit to not get a mastectomy. I really like my breasts and I'd rather keep them, so a reduction sounds ideal to me, but also having a "one and done" mas

Of course, I would love to have a mother that I could confide in, tell her what's troubling me, to be comforted and told it's going to be okay, etc. maybe even a nugget of advice here and there. But, that's not how I was raised. I can only remember one time when my mother comforted me, and it was for something that really didn't matter (but maybe she related to it?). I always felt a bit confused by people who "want their mommy" when they're sick, hurt, etc. because it's just so unrelatable to me. Why would I want my mom? She's not going to do anything to make me feel better.

As a middle-aged adult now, I often process my emotions and then tell her something (possibly even weeks later) if I

When I switched my patch this weekend, I did twist in the mirror to look at how my last location was doing. I usually have some irritation but nothing a little hydrocortisone can't fix. It wasn't too out of the ordinary of a movement though. My husband helped me put the new patch on the opposite side. I had back pain almost immediately on that same side where the patch is. It's like my muscle has tensed up back there when he put it on.

I've tried my usual tricks for tense back muscles including lots of stretching but nothing is helping. Today is my patch switch day so I'm wondering if switching sides is going to help. I saw that back pain/back ache can be a side effect of estrogen patches

I don't know why it hasn't occurred to me until now to post this, but the first instance is from 2017 and the second one from 2023.

My grandpa was somewhat into the paranormal and he always said he would show signs from the other side before he passed. I grew up very close to my grandparents, I saw them nearly every day as a child and I think of them as my second parents.

On the night before his funeral, I was trying to write a eulogy for him, and I wanted to use this paper I wrote on him in middle school, the assignment was to write about a "character" and my grandpa absolutely fit that description. It got lost after many computer switches, etc. over the 20+ years since I wrote it. My mo

About a week ago, my husband lost his Kindle, which he reads nightly. We searched everywhere for it, separately and together, opened drawers, checked underneath things, etc. He does have ADHD so the idea of setting it down somewhere unexpected was considered and we checked even illogical places where he may have carried it and put it down after being distracted by a new task. We checked everywhere in the house multiple times.

After about 3 days of searching, we decided the most likely action he took was carrying the Kindle downstairs and then switching to taking out the trash, and we assume he may have placed the Kindle down somewhere anongst the trash and it must've been accidentally throw

Inspired by someone else's question, I decided to make a post of what I like to include in my medicine cabinet, for travel and EDC (every day carry).

I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice, I am just giving high-level examples from my extensive research into OTC meds and personal experience. You know your body best and what works for you, so go with what you like if it differs from my advice. Also check with your doctor as many OTC meds still carry risks, especially with certain health conditions, and Drugs.com is great to check for interactions. Feel free to comment with any corrections and I will update when I get a chance. I may have left out some things

This might be a weird question, but I appreciate anyone's thoughts.

I am a new homeowner and I noticed what appeared to be a single rose root that was maybe 3-4 feet tall, it was healthy looking but no buds (that I can recall) or flowers, as there was a hurricane a few months ago that could have damaged it or perhaps a number of other things may have happened. I'm in zone 9.

My stepmom came over with several rowdy labradors, and couple of dogs were so focused on the stem trying to bite it. I had not noticed this stem before and the dogs brought our attention to it. Despite being told off, when they were left unattended, the dog(s) ate the entire stem down to the ground. One dog did have so

I feel so unprepared and I tend to have health anxiety, so I'm in this place where I am seeing significant changes in my body but I don't know if it's just "normal aging" like it happens to men too, or if "normal aging" as in perimenopause, or if I'm perhaps attributing symptoms to other things.

For some background, I have hypothyroidism since my early 20's, I'm medicated well but I have missed a couple pills in the last few months due to being back and forth between different locations and just being out of my rountine and sometimes forgetting my pills at home on a trip. I'm 38yo and apparently my grandmother? Went into menopause early. My mom had a hysterectomy at mid-40s and determining

I am looking to downsize my wardrobe. Ideally, I would like to donate them to a place where people who have lost everything in the hurricanes can have them. I don't want to give to Goodwill where they will charge high prices for used goods. I am part of the Buy Nothing FB Group for my area but that can be tedious because I have many different sizes and types of clothes. Is that my best option or does anyone have suggestions where I can donate? I have women's clothing only. Thank you 🤗
