I was reading Newton's biography, Never at Rest, and it says that in his later years, Newton was a generous donor who gave financial help to foreigners, relatives, and universities. However, it also mentions that he held shares in the South Sea Company, which transport slaves from Africa to America.

I don’t understand how those two things can go together. On one hand, you are helping people in need, but on the other hand, you are financing the trafficking of human beings who experienced horrific torture and murder.

So I wonder if this is some kind of historical mistake in Newton case, or if it was simply normal back then, in 18th-century England, to hold shares in companies that transport

Many scientist derived Navier-Stokes equations, Navier 1821/1822, Augustin-Louis Cauchy -1828, Simeon Denis Poisson-1829, Adhemar Jean Claude Barre de Saint-Venant-1843, Stokes-1845.

For example we can see here that de Saint-Venant published correct derivation that we use today 2 years before Stokes.

*"In 1843 (de Saint-Venant) he published the correct derivation of the Navier-Stokes equations for a viscous flow and was the first to "properly identify the coefficient of viscosity and its role as a multiplying factor for the velocity gradients in the flow". Even though he published before Stokes, the equation

As I’ve been researching, I learned that quills actually have two historical types of cuts: the older rigid broad-edge and flexible pointed tip (developed later for Round Hand and faster writing styles).

Quote from text:

"However, to write a faster (or “running”) version of the Bastard hand and to draw the “cadels” or flourishes, the French masters used what they called the “plume à traits”, which was as sharp and narrow as possible, and flexible."

What is modern flex nib(fountain pen) that can write "hairlines" out of box, without modify the nib?

"hairlines" mean lines around 0.2mm

(I doesn't be 100% flex, can be semi-flex etc..)

In below video is example of Mag 500 that can write around 0.15mm:

(i set video at specific time so don't need to search, just open..)

VIDEO

But I don't know is it tuned nib or original?

Here is one review of Pilot flex pens:

Pilot Custom 74 (Soft Fine)
Pilot Falcon (Soft-Fine)
Pilot Custom Heritage 912 FA
Pilot Custom 743 FA
Pilut Justus 95 (Soft-Fine)

here is similar review but with blurry video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P25jTd5lHP0

I am interested for flex nib that write thin lines(I would say under 0.3mm with no pressure) but it is not scratchy? I still didn't decide what mode and nib size..

What is your best one and what do you think about 74 SF, didn't know that belong to flex pens ?

I look this two videos of M400 EF and F nib, this men write thinner with F nib than girl with EF nib. Men write fast and low pressure and girl write slow and higher pressure, is that reason why EF nib get wider lines then F nib? Also if paper soak more ink than lines are also wider?

Also men m600 EF write wider that m400 F?

So my conclusion is that from other videos I cant find how thick nib writes?
