Just looks like an art fair over there this weekend.

I just used up my last bolt of Peltex 72F making tote bags, and the replacement bolt I got from Walmart is NOT the same stuff (thin, shiny, missing the embedded instruction, not even on the right cardboard); I assume it’s counterfeit. The question is where can I buy a bolt of Peltex that isn’t counterfeit? Most of the online quilting shops sell it by the yard ($14-$16) with no discount for buying by the bolt, making it $150! This is hideously more expensive than it was last time I bought a bolt from Joann (RIP) 3 1/2 years ago when it was $55. Makes me want to weep.
Just ate there tonight, and it was better than I expected. It is pretty noisy—seems to be a problem most places, and was also an issue at under the sun. The remodel is light and bright, which is appealing.
Started with:
- Caesar salad—very tasty with evenly distributed Parmesan, dressing, and croutons crumbs. Has actual anchovies!
- fried mozzarella stick—that’s a single, long stick. Crunchy exterior. Very tasty, elevated.
- burrata—this was THE highlight of the meal. We got a side of delicious focaccia as well because inexplicably the burrata only comes with 2 small pieces of toast. The cherry tomatoes and sauce were so flavorful. I just wanted to eat this all night.
Sadly, I was
Something interesting started happening. I am now having events trigger by an outside cat, but the video of the event is of the inside of the bowl!
Background: on my 1 month free trial of whisker+. I really wanted inside camera footage so I could see which cat was using it. I have one cat who is having litter box problems, and I don’t know for sure that she never uses the litter robot vs. one of our open boxes; her weight is too similar to one of our other cats. Whisker ID doesn’t seem that effective, and the placement of the robot in the bathtub means the cats can hop straight inside without being caught on the outside camera.
Occasionally, a cat will linger in front of the robot to chec
Maybe if I didn’t already own the R1S, I’d consider buying the R2 because it’s way cheaper, and also, I prefer its size and handling.
But since I’m already in it financially, I can better assess the models without considering the cost.
Although handling is better, I think the width of the backseat won’t be as good for 3 people. The legroom is stellar in the R2, but the whole car is a few inches narrower. This is better for parking, though.
The frunk is too small for groceries and doesn’t auto-close with a button.
The height is lower, and that means the windshield is lower, so it doesn’t feel as spacious in the driver seat.
I prefer the R1S ascend seats.
It has plenty of zip, but not a
A lot of the time, I really feel like the R1S is too large, especially when parking. But I’ve been surprised at how often I have loaded up the trunk or even loaded it up with seats down: packing up my sewing gear for a retreat; goodwill runs; preemptive packing for high fire danger. Today, I downsized my comic book collection and took it and a dolly to the comic book store. No way would that have fit into an R2.
I’m just saying, I don’t know if the R2 can bring it for me.
Had a horrible dream that it started hailing, so we ran out with our mattress covers only to find that our Rivian had been stolen! I was near tears, and then I thought: well, maybe we can get a quad now.
I tested a bunch of inkjet fabric sheets to make printed covers. Note: This is a test for book cloth, not what might be best for quilting or clothing. Book cloth doesn’t need to be washed and it can be stiff (you want it to be stiff).
Printer
I have a Canon TR160, which uses dye ink for color (and pigment for black, but it doesn’t use black when printing photos).
Printer Settings
I printed on “matte photo” using the “best” quality. Some fabrics suggest using Plain and Normal, but I found that more ink was generally better for my printer.
Image
I printed various images, including drawings and watercolors and photos. I decided that photos were the hardest to print, so I used
I jokingly complained about how much I hated the rental car, and he hurried up and finished our repair.(Broken passenger window due to a weed whacker and a rock. They also did the 12v battery replacement because of the redesigned bracket. And checked the HVAC since I had a couple of weeks where it smelled bad, but of course, it seems fine now.) I assured him that I has super happy they provided a rental car, but it can't compare to a Rivian. "Well what does?" Exactly. Going to pick it up soon.
