Hello! Wanted to share our experience at the Melia Casa Maya this year since I couldn’t find much prior to booking.

Context: English speaking larger group of extended families with younger kids. We primarily stayed on resort, the ages of the kids made travelling less appealing. Families that attended have varying travel styles and food preferences.

We did one tour in Cancun and one self guided day trip to Isla Mujeres.

Overall: Went in with reserved expectations and came out happy. The resort was kid friendly without being Disneyfied / kid forward if that makes sense.

I just called WestJet to ask if they had any promotions or options to change to Canadian destinations. They don’t, but it got me thinking — the more people who are in a similar boat that call, the more likely it is that the company makes it an option. Strength in numbers etc! I am listening to the OS audiobook and caught a detail that I don’t know how to interpret.

In Chapter 13, when the squad visits Jesinia in the Archives, she finger spells “venin” in their discussion. It’s specifically noted that she spells it.

My question is what could this imply? Can anyone with knowledge of signing culture lend any insights? When would someone choose to finger spell rather than sign? And what could it mean if there is no sign for venin?

Hi! I have a young kid. We are also lucky enough to still have both sets of parents alive. My partner and I moved away from our hometown where both sets of parents still live, we are about a 2h flight away.

I’m having internal struggles recently as both sets of parents are actively choosing to take care of their parents rather than be actively involved in my kids life. They will FaceTime and visit once or twice a year for a few days, but that’s all.

Both sets of parents could afford to move closer, or move their parents / our aging grandparents at the same time. They will directly say they are choosing not to move closer because they want to be close to their aging parents / our grandp

Our neighbour (who is wonderful) inadvertently severed the charger cord for our EV while they were trimming back our shared hedge. Does anyone know of anyone in town who would do this type of electrical repair? I’m not even sure where to start looking- Google has been unhelpful.

Looking for some advice. I highly highly suspect my dad is on the autism spectrum and that’s where my traits come from genetically. I’m early in the process of understanding what masking and preventing overstimulation looks like for me.

I’m having challenges when my overstimulation is triggered by my dad’s unmasked behaviours — specifically when he verbally associates a phrase in conversation with a song lyric and sings it out, usually derailing the conversations, or when he talks and talks about his special interest in religious content/ interpretation when I fundamentally disagree with his conclusions.

Hi! We are looking to get my grandpa a custom walking stick — he needs walking support but won’t use a cane, so I’m hoping to get him a walking stick. Looking for one that is hardened and stained, has a leather strap, and a rubber foot. If it could have a custom design carved or burned in that would be even better.

We are parenting a small human. Trying to teach her to love the outdoors. She’s had several interactions now where off leash dogs rush her and now she’s scared of dogs. She has also stepped and fallen in dog shit on the sides of trails where owners haven’t noticed their pups pooping.

I get your dog loves it. But keep your fecking dog on a leash unless it’s an off leash park.
