'A lot of people really hated the referendum process up there. It was a really unpleasant thing. And actually, we're obsessed with Brexit in England? But most people I know covering Brexit and following what happened in Scotland say it much more unpleasant in Scotland.

Families were divided, it got quite unpleasant. A lot of people don't want to go through that again.'

It often touted that Germany makes the biggest contribution to the EU budget. Or that the German car industry exports heavily over here, and so Germany has to go for tariff-free trade in the end. This seems imply they call the shots in the EU.

But member states can't determine how the money they send to the EU is spent - that's for the commission and the parliament, isn't it? And no member state has more commissioners than any other (one from each country) and none can really threaten to withhold money if they don't get their way (we saw that when Britain got landed w

I believe in independence - voted for it in the last referendum, and I would vote for it again. But I can't help but feeling that my vote this time carries far more risk of economic calamity than before (should one actually happen).

The reason rests on Scotland's EU membership. In the last referendum, there was some technical issues with membership - many of which were very overblown. If the UK was in the EU and Scotland wanted to stay in it, then it was almost certain to happen. We're now getting a sense of how technically difficult just getting a withdrawal agreement is going to be - it is madness to think either the RUK or the EU would have done one just to tear it up a year later

The EU referendum is kicking into gear and I can't help but notice something. It's exactly the same arguments and rhetoric of the Scottish referendum, but flipped on its head.

SNP members are raving on about how the EU isn't perfect but clearly gives us collective power and 'just overall a sense of being stronger together'. Conservatives are banging on out about taking power back from institutions which don't respect their national status and sovereignty. 'The people are sovereign', said David Cameron today. I wonder whether he's informed Her Majesty of that fact.

Conservatives who quoted with glee the predictions of big supermarkets having to raise their prices, are now laughing at the sa

I've got some fundamentalist relatives visiting this Christmas and they don't know I'm gay.

I've been thinking of wearing a piece of clothing that makes clear that I'm out and proud, as demonstrated by this fabulous gentleman. It could cause a confrontation - I hope not, but it could and I would be doing that knowingly.

Should I just be grateful of seeing my family, and wear it the other three-hundred and sixty-four days (not consecutively - ew).

Edit: Loads of people are commenting on that Ian McKellen shirt. I don't mean to ask about that one specifically, just clothing generally - like a rainbo

I wanted to update you all on how it went. Situation was this: I was reluctant to go get PEP because I had gotten it recently at an HIV clinic, and when I called them up, they dismissed my concerns because 'I was being tested already'.

Obviously, I listened to all you guys saying just go, and I knew I had to do something. I got on the phone with the Terrence Higgins Trust‎, and spoke to a nice man with a sexy accent who (like you good folks) put the pressure to go get more PEP - basically he said, go to a different area, a different place. Just go.

I found the Sandyford, and the Steve Retson Project (who specialise in gay

A few simple questions, just to gauge how we all feel about monogamy.

Your ideal relationship, is it a closed one between two of you, or does it have a degree of openness - freedom to seek sexual fulfilment outside your partner?

Would you be in a long-term relationship if your partner wanted this freedom but you were on the fence (or maybe you feel strongly one way or the other)?

Tell me what you think about openness in LTRs.

Here's my problem: I'm not good at turning people down for sex. (Hang on, keep reading)

I don't mean random people on the street - but an ex, former dates, close friends. Lately, I've been doing the fade away alot, and ignoring people who clearly just want to hit the sheets. I don't like this - I need to be direct with people.

I need you r/gaybros to turn me down. How do you do it? Bluntly, sensitively, compassionately? Do I just need to man up?

So I just have one thing left. Do you wanna have sex?

I've been discovering some of the greats of Scottish Literature, and I wanted to share this poem I wrote (it's about my own ignorance of Scottish writing). Leave recommendations of any of your own favorite writers - of anything, poetry, prose, short-story. I hope we can share what we love reading.

Skinny-dipping

I found a map inside a king's book,
That took me to the shore of life. I dove,
And when the water breached I found,
The sea breathes you.

The loch was fed by Burns and rain,
But ancient waters called.
I swam and swam, and when I reached
The bottom, found it dry.

The ruins of Dunbar,
Henryson and Douglas.

I look up at my feet,
Standing on that viscous film
