I'd love to hear how you make friends. I'm hoping to find some social opportunities for a bright 15-year-old boy who is transitioning from private school to homeschool. I've been doing some online searching for this age group and falling up short, so would really appreciate hearing your experience or any recommendations. Thanks!

My sense is that with unlimited wealth, homeschooling is always the best option since you can hire the world's best tutors to provide 1-1 instruction for your kids in the approach that works best for them - and evolve that as they grow. From an educational standpoint, can any K12 private school compete with a homeschooling education since its 1-1 mastery-based learning?
If we look at how kings have educated their kids in the past, and how a lot of Silicon Valley parents are doing it, it seems they opt for private tutors. And, also every affluent family uses a ton of tutors when they want to give their kids an advantage in school. Most parents would naturally choose an SAT tutor over an SAT
Hi parents, I'm looking for a recommendation for a private educator to work full time this summer two boys in Menlo Park (ages Preschool / 1st grade). The ideal teacher should have experience with gifted and 2e kids with some sensory challenges and designing custom learning experiences. The learning experience will combine some structured literacy and early math with fun outdoor activities and STEAM projects.
Full transparency: I run a homeschooling company that helps place private educators. We usually place teachers in full-time annual roles and this is our first summer camp placement. I'm a teacher with 20 years of experience in the classroom and 10 years helping homeschooling famil
I'm looking fo connect with an excellent educational consultant in Dubai focused on PreK/Kindergarten admissions at private schools (ideally with some experience with 2e, gifted and profoundly kids) I'd prefer an individual or boutique consultancy with a success rate than a big company. Thanks so much for your recommendations.
Hi, My non-profit was just approved by the IRS and I applied to create a cause on Benevity to be able to receive matching grants for volunteers. I read that it can take up to 30 days to get approved, so I was wondering how long it took for you - especially if you are US-based and you were approved recently. Thanks!
Hi there, I run a non-profit that provides free 1-1 online tutoring to under-resourced kids (primarily in math and STEP). We're looking from volunteers from Apple to tutor kids 1-2 hours a week online. You don't need tutoring experience. We will train you and provide you with curriculum and loads of support. It's kind of like helping a younger brother, sister, niece or nephew with homework! The kids benefit so much from the kindness, care and guidance you can offer while helping them through math. Here's more info and a information about applying. We're especially looking for current Apple employees, since Apple matches your volunteer hours with a contribution. Thanks in advance for your in
I'm a podcast host and I'd like to be able to interview guests who don't speak English. Essentially the way this would work is that as we're recording, I'd be able to see what the guest is saying in English and then they'd be able to see what I'm saying in their language. It could be for online interviews, but if there's an option to have it for in-person even better. This would allow be to interview many more people. The final captions would be in English. It would be great if it could integrate with Riverside. Thanks in advance for building this! When you're done, let me know and I"ll be your first customer!
Hi, I'm looking for a new math curriculum for a 6th grade homeschooler to use in lieu of a tutor. He prefers structured practice with clear explanations, no cute characters or bells and whistles. Would love for it to be adaptive, open and go and aligned with school standards. Not a huge fan of IXL because it's multiple choice. Khan Academy feels too flimsy. Is there anything truly adaptive and rigorous? I prefer to spend under $100 a year. Thanks for your advice!
Hey there, looking for honest, no-nonsense feedback. Has anyone found an app that was actually fun, effective in helping them get ready for the SAT? I'm looking for something that can help support low-income students. It's ok if it's paid, we can always ask the company for donations - but I just want to find out what's the best resource out there according to people who have actually used it to ace the SAT. Please do NOT reply if you're a company promoting your product.
Let's share some cool projects or activities we're all working on today! Extra points if you share an image!
I'm looking for a resource to help a gifted 6th grader. I heard this was their new homeschool product and wondering if anyone has tried it and what you liked or disliked? Thanks so much!
