I just called Van Drew's Jersey office. The woman who answered the phone was audibly annoyed when I asked her what he was doing to work with Democrats to open the government back up. Her responses to all of my questions was that "he was in DC and doesn't want the government shut down" after she audibly sighed after every question I asked. One time I said "well the government is shut down so what is he doing" and she had no answer other than "he's in DC". Please try to call and voice your displeasure for the government shut down and to call him out for not working to keep the government open!

Good morning! I am going to be tutoring some students in physics and was wondering what you would charge. I am a 15 year veteran teacher with a Masters in Physics Education. I will be tutoring AP Physics C (which I taught for 6 years) and College Prep Physics (which I taught for 13 years). I was thinking $40 or $50/hour but would love to hear from others. Thank you all for your help!
I was recently given my grandmother's engagement ring as an inheritance. It is very dirty and I want to get it professionally cleaned. Does anyone know of/recommend a trustworthy jeweler that I could take it to? I am in Salem County but willing to travel!
I know there have been posts on this in the past, but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for a demo lesson in Chemistry that would last about 30 minutes. I have taught physics for a majority of my career but I've taught chemistry in the past as well, so I want to do something that shows them I know chemistry because this is a great school and I just really want this job. The demo lesson is to AP chem students and I can pick whatever topic I want. Thank you for any suggestions you guys can provide!
I am truly confused. If someone commits a crime and just happens to have been the President at some point, why does that matter?
TW: Mention of self harm
Hi everyone - I was hoping I could get some help/advice.
Last week I began an emergency leave of absence for my mental health. I am out on FMLA until after winter break. Long story short, things in my life have been getting more and more overwhelming and I guess I didn't realize how bad it was getting because the unhappiness and numbness was so constant that it felt normal. It wasn't until I told my husband that I had had been planning different ways to hurt myself so that I could be sick/hurt enough to get out of work but not die that he insisted I go to the doctor, where she immediately signed the FMLA forms to get me out of work. I am now working on getting
So not exactly what you'd think. Today I had to take a sick day because my son fell off of a bouncy trampoline type thing this weekend and we needed to follow up with the orthopedic doctor.
I have been sitting here feeling GUILTY for calling out of work to take care of my child. I can't even believe I'm typing that out, but I also feel like this is the only group of people who will understand. I dread going to work each day, and I teach all honors students in Physics. My day is comparatively easy and I really shouldn't feel this way. I just wish I could be home with my kids to be able to take care of them and focus on them and my family. Each day I get more and more upset that I
I’m a high school teacher, and this year was the worst, as I’m sure you’ve heard. I have three kids, 5 year old twin boys and a 2 year old girl. Because we already paid for daycare for the month, they were going in today for the full day and I planned a day down the shore with 3 of my friends. They all took off work and I was so excited because I haven’t seen them since January 2020. Our schedules are difficult to match up because of the very different jobs we have, so I was so excited. Im sure you can see where this is going.
30 minutes into my drive, I get a call from daycare. Daughter’s cough “got worse” (I put that in quotes because I have not heard her cough at home AT ALL) and because
We are supposed to get a lot of snow this weekend, and it looks like there’s a really good chance we would be snowed in on Monday and possibly Tuesday. We got an email at the end of the day today telling us to make sure that we take anything we need to teach home because if there’s inclement weather then we will have a virtual day since the state says it will count because we are in a public health emergency.
Listen, I know having days tacked on at the end of June is annoying, but jfc don’t send me emails about making sure the kids feel happy and mentally well and then take away the only snow day we may have this year. Why should these kids sit in front of a computer while it snows when the
I searched in the sub but didn't see anything specifically focusing on this portion of an interview.
I have an interview tomorrow with my dream school - I am in my 12th year teaching and this is a school that I have wanted to work at since I was in college. I haven't interviewed in a very long time, and wanted some help specifically with the "What questions do you have for us?" portion.
I already planned on asking about the culture of the department (is culture the right word?) and what supports they have for new teachers at the school, but what are some questions that I could ask that would show that I am very interested in working there without sounding desperate?
I am very unhappy in

I was looking for some opinions from anyone that might be able to help. I am incredibly lucky that I work in a school district that allowed me to take maternity leave for the remainder of the previous school year and this current school year for child rearing leave, so when I go back to work in September my sons will be almost 18 months old.
When I return to work they will be put into daycare (we aren't sure where yet) from about 6:30/7am until 3/3:30pm. I am starting to worry that suddenly going from being home with mom all day every day for 18 months to 5 days a week at daycare will be a very difficult transition for them. My husband and I were talking about possibly seeing if we could
