I have started the process of searching for rescues and thanks to everyone on here who gave me people and places to seek out in CA, but I have to say, and I mean no disrespect to the amazing people volunteering their time to save and dogs adopted BUT I have reached out to a fair amount of people and organizations and have only heard back from two or three. One would think that IF you’re priority is to get these dogs into homes one would actually respond to those making an effort…
What am I missing?

Hello all, I wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming kindness you've shown around the loss of our beloved Doug.

My wife and I have talked it over and agreed that we'd like to rescue an adolescent dog this time, since there are so many out there in need. That said, we want to give ourselves time to grieve, and since we always travel and board our dogs over Thanksgiving, we feel that after the holiday would be the soonest we'd realistically start looking. I’m going to be in London (From CA) in a few weeks and was asked if there’s anything that “I’d like to see / do?” I’m not a big sight seeing guy but it dawned on me that I would like to poke around some guitar shops for some cool stuff that you can’t find in the states. I have no idea if this is even a realistic thing so I’m putting the feelers out. Anyone have any experience guitar shopping / bringing guitars back to the states? I would mind finding a cool old Gibson SG…

I’ve gotten some good recommendations in the past and always enjoy following finding new places to eat so I’m broadening my search from our area (South Bay) in hopes of finding some amazing places. In the South Bay the wife and I enjoy Northern Cafe and Dan, we used to frequent Hop Li on Pico and really enjoyed it however recently we went and it was not what we remembered it to be. :(

Is Chinatown / DT worth exploring or is it just a tourist trap?

I keep hearing San Gabriel Valley is the place so if we were willing to drive out are there any specific recs?

We’re not dumpling people just look for some good Chinese.

Thanks in advance!

I’m in Long Beach (Art District) for the afternoon doing some work and would love a rec for seafood or just a must try.
