I want to install the "old" tools on a spare PC without dragging in the CubeMX2 stuff. Is 6.18 the going thing? Is it a dead toolchain now? I'm confused a bit about existing projects versus updates to the ST libraries. I'm not interested in HAL2 at this time, nor am I interested in MCUs not supported on the old tools.

Or do people have two toolchains going?

I have a legacy project using the STM32F103 that I wanted to test using the GD32F103. I'm used to Keil, Stm32CubeIDE, ST-Link, etc, but have not tried anything GigaDevice.

I can see in Keil that there are Device Family Packs for this MCU, but I'm not clear on what USB debugger will work with this part. Are there cheap USB debuggers (GD-Link?) that will work, or do I need to find a way to get the official one from China?

Also, is there recommended programming tools (software) like STM32CubeProgrammer? I prefer to use single-step etc, but a flash programmer would be a start.

My two Wurkos FC11's died, not battery related, though one wants to burn the house down when I charge it. Is the FC11C substantially improved?

I'd like a couple of new units in the same 18650 form factor. The button on the FC11 worked every time at least (looking at you Nebo). I thought the FC11 was passable. What I did like about the Nebo was being able to focus. Recommendations?

I'm looking for a powered subwoofer to complement my AM3's, which I am very happy with. Ideally the sub would be 8" or less, have volume and cutoff freq controls and < $500.

For background info, I bought the AM3's at Crutchfield for just over $400 for the pair.

Although I stopped getting this magazine in print or digital some time ago, I always kept my eyes on it for the occasional sale. It looks like half of the issues are digital-only now ('eco-blend")? No option to subscribe to 12 print issues a year. There aren't many magazines that cater to embedded, so I hope this one can survive. It's been around forever.
