I understand 50A breaker generally supports ~40A continuous (EV charging) and a 60A breaker is ~48A continuous. If the wire from the breaker to the inlet supported 50A continuous (6/3 or bigger) the next limitation would be the inlet and then cord to the generator, and then the generator itself (plug and breaker).

For sake of argument, pretend I'm trying to charge an EV at 48A, powered by a 50A inlet. Anything I should keep in mind or build for?

I'm in the process of upgrading my service in both BTUs and pressure, the house and generator will have their own regulators to get down 1/4 psi or so.

I'd want to use 50' of 1/2 inch flex pipe at 2 psi from the meter "generator" quick connect. Using https://www.gastite.com/downloads/pdfs/gastite_sizing_tables_natural_gas.pdf shows that I would have more than enough BTUs (I'd probably install the final regulator on the frame of the generator itself).

Where are people finding gas hose rated for 2psi? I've seen ab3power but that's it in my search.

I'm in the middle of choosing a generator and wanted to verify my numbers with others.

Here are my numbers 4500W most of the time running the AC, 5500W or so when running the microwave as well. Imbalance between legs averages 800W, maxes out at 2000W (microwave again).

If I add in the oven or the dryer I shoot up to 9000W or so, it would be nice to run these loads but not the end of the world if I can't (and can even shut off AC if I want to run them to finish them off or something).

There should end up being 300k btu or more available at the natural gas connection (checked the piping, pressure, etc, gas company will upgrade the meter as well).

The AC will have an easystart installed on

I have a some heads, near the road, that like to break on the swing joint 90 attached to the head. Is there anything I can do to help prevent this or am I just going to be digging up a few heads every season to replace the swing joing 90? That's fine if so, but if there's an easy fix I'd like to hear it.

Hi, from what I can see online people tend to either change filters by calendar or when flow is restricted (or not at all...). I generally have low flow through the house so it's harder to notice low flow, I'd prefer not to do it by calendar if possible, but I could if needed (I would test water over time to figure out the replacement interval).

I'm on a utility water source. Water is generally fine, ~150 PPM hardness, but would like to remove the chloramine and maybe other things to extend the life of the TAC system (helps keep hard water from sticking) and the RO system (for car washes).

My plan is to install a meter for before the filters (or after, I guess...) and change based on gal

I drive all year in the Chicago area and have style 68 wheels for summer. I'm looking for a set of wheels (and tires) for winter driving. I don't need anything fancy, more just something that won't pick up snow and not overly expensive. Not sure if I want to keep it staggered or not.

What wheels would you recommend for the winter?

10500 miles, single owner before me, summer driving or kept in garage, sport, premium and cold weather package.

So, my question is, what should I do to get it up to date, mainly using it as a daily driver? A lot of things (and fluids) say to replace at xxxxx miles, but not really by age so I'm not sure if I should replace some things on age alone.

I have the following records

  • BMW dealer did some stuff in 2018, not sure if inspection 1 or 2 was done as it hadn't hit 15k miles
  • last oil change 2022-12, but with the miles that's not super concerning

Immediate plan:

  • replace OEM tires (20 year old tires...)
  • do an oil change (filter/gasket etc) (myself or otherwise)
  • check moisture l

I have a bunch of crossings of 4" drain pipe to deal with (12-13).

I'll be using a trencher and can either burst through the drain pipe or hand dig around it (I know each crossing within a foot or so).

My question to you is what you would do, would you dig through it and repair after or hand dig around it and not repair (external connector and pvc tape)?

What's going on?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
