I live in an area with a very high LDS population (not Utah). The closest LDS church is across the street from my house. Within a 2 mile radius there are 9 other LDS churches. If you expand that radius out the number continues to grow. Within a 10 mile radius there are two temples.

What I don't understand, is how is this even sustainable?

FWIW...I was made to use the flair and this was the best choice

Stupid BYU Question

Doctrine/Policy

This might not be the best place for this question, but I figure any answer here will be closer to ground truth…

…any way. As I understand BYU there are grooming standards for males and females. So, I watch the Big 12 championship game and I noted lots of different hairstyles on the players and football staff that would seem, to the casual observer anyway, out of sync with said grooming standards.

So what’s up with that?

So is this how it work?

General Discussion

After the passing Nelson it seems Oaks is the next man up. That's it? No election? No conclave like the Catholics do or something similar? Is it because it's his turn?

It would seem that being a "prophet" requires some sort of divine intervention. So how does this really work?

FWIW, I'm still waiting for the Darth Vader guy.

A new CSAF?

Discussion

With the announced “retirement” of the current CSAF we’re entering an interesting time. Needless to say, the number of flag officers across all services that have “retired” or otherwise disposed of in the last several months has been odd at best. The recent elevation of a retired 3 star to the rank of 4 star and CJCS is a commentary on the current state of the 4 star community across DoD…at least as viewed by this current administration.

This begs the question who becomes the next CSAF? Does the administration reach down (below the 4 star level) into the Air Force flag community? If so, how far?
