My dualtron eagle legit just tried to kill me. I took to a mcdonald's a mile up the road since it wasn't raining finally. On the way back the throttle suddenly starts acting weird and sticky. It would kick on soon as I let go of the breaks without my finger being in the throttle trigger.

Pulled it over gave it a once over nothing obviously wrong with it. Shut it down wait a minute start it back up. Seems fine initially and I figure I'll baby it back home the rest the way. Not even twenty seconds later it just full on floors it even though I was coasting down hill. I crashed ddcdntly hard (always wear ur safety gear) and now my eco and dual/single motor buttons are stuck / won't push in or

Scifi story I'm working on. Don't have a strong summary for it as a lot of its originated as worldbuilding. I'm describing it as the Expanse meets Halo and Mass Effect, add a strong dose of cyberpunk (Altered Carbon), with a small dash of Dune/ Warhammer 40k for style. Set exclusives in our Solar System, far future. No aliens, no ftl. Calling it medium scifi, there is some physics breaking stuff but I have rules for it with hard limits for it.

Early Solar Law (2025-2120)

Early Solar political development can be traced via several historical developments. Each of these three unique historical and material conditions emerged independently of one another, but their unique relationship ha

Both of my parents gladly voted for trump both times. They're conservative evangelical christians worried about taxes. Nothing special but their religous inclinations make them prime candidates for any conspiracy really though.

Got this little diddy from my father at 6 am.

Below written by Newt Gingrich A smart friend of mine who is a moderate liberal asked why I was not recognizing Joe Biden’s victory. The friend made the case that Mr. Biden had gotten more votes, and historically we recognize the person with the most votes. Normally, we accept the outcome of elections just as we accept the outcomes of sporting events. So, my friend asked why was 2020 different? Having spent mor

Edit: shads video on the vibroblade

https://youtu.be/D0MGaC3lLis

I've been working on my own sci fi story lately, and I have a lot of melee weapons in the same vein as Warhammer 40k and Dune. While doing this I accidentally figured out that Shads description of the Mandalorian's blade may imply it's made of vibranium.

I've watched a lot of the old videos Shad has done about improving swords, along with Skalligrim's videos on the subject as well. Initially I was just going to make it believable enough sounding unobtanium and make the swords super thin but still super strong, but not like cutting through armor sharp. However, I wanted something more, and I kept leaning towards vibroblade.

About my setting: Set in the year 2650ish, we've colonized most of the solar system with artificial habitats. As a result, no guns in the habitats because bullets and space don't mix well. No FTL, no aliens. My world is a mix between Halo, Mass Effect, The Expanse, Warhammer 40k, Dune, The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress with strong Lunarpunk/ Solarpunk vibes.

Introduction

The first Kinetic Pulse weapons were actually forged in 2391 during one of the first and most violent Lunestian Mourning Wars. These first weapons were actually repurposed mining equipment, whose key technology is a metamaterial known as Taranisite, named after the Celtic god of thunder. Taranisite has many interesting pro

Hello fellow sword enthusiast, I'm an amateur writer who needs some input on one my stories that has some sword fighting in it.

A quick note about me, I had some friends in college that did SCA and HEMA, I've been to a few HEMA events for funsies/ done a few practice session, I'm generally a history nerd, weapons nerd, follow the usual suspects on swordtube (scholargladitoria, lindybiege, shad, skalligrim, etc.). I say to say that I can usually follow along with conversation about swords and I'm probably a little more informed than your average layman.

In my far future (2600) sci-fi novel set in a colonized Solar System I have a form of Judicially Sanctioned duels that play a prominent

Setting: My story is set far future, 2400-2500ish, still playing around with dates. My setting is similar to a combination of the Expanse and Halo. Like the expanse, we've colonized a good chunk of the solar system (Moon, Mars, Belt, Jovian system, Venus floating cities, and some spin station). No FTL. It is unlike the Expanse, more similar to Halo in that I introduce so handwavium elements to it. It is crucial to the plot/ setting. I'm calling it medium scifi, as it I'm trying to keep the aesthetic close to harder scifi but keeping my handwavium tech "plausible" sounding and clearly define and stay in the rules of that tech. Also probably relevant to my setting somehow, I destroy earth in 2
