FYI, i just purchased a PF10 on ebay a few days ago and was stuck not being able to add PixelCare, because they had suspended phones not purchased directly from Google. But they opened it back up, was able to sign up just now for my new phone.

Upfront this will be a long post, so i will include a TLDR up top, i'm posting this because its a question that comes up and the documentation for this is unclear, and i was under the wrong assumption in the past. Others have posted some experience in other threads, but it wasnt clear to me how it worked. i;m posting this to record my experience and have it in a separate thread. i've included details on how i tested this, but i cannot confirm any other combos.
TLDR; With Strix Z690i, it is possible to connect a monitor using USB-C cable to TB4 port but use the dGPU for gaming.

Updated below with a few more details, thanks to u/Inevitable-Desk-156 for doing some testing to get me closer.
hi all, recently built a new system with this motherboard, and have run into an issue with thunderbolt:
- when i enable thunderbolt in bios and reboot, i have no display during post on my discrete GPU (Sapphire Radeon 470) the screen is white, if i press delete to enter bios, the bios does not display its just white boxes. if i let the system boot, it will boot into OS and the monitor works fine. the only way to resolve this is to CMOS reset the bios.
- if i change the BIOS to internal GPU then it displays correctly, but the monitor connected to my discrete GPU still shows

$28: Single tower CPU cooler. i'm 99% certain this is a scythe mugen 2, revb. its served me well for 10 years, and i would still be. using it if it fit my new case. it's just ending its duty on an i7-9700 keeping it cool with no problems. i can only confirm it fits 1151 (well and the 1156-i7-870 before it!). comes with a scythe 3 pin fan (which has a little bit of double side tape attached to the back
