I put the Pied Piper standard edition in my cart a few days ago and was waiting to purchase until the sale so I could pick up some other titles. In my cart it’s $22. On the site it’s $32. All titles appear to be $10 higher than they were before the announcement of a flash sale.
WTF is up with that? Am I confused or did they juice the prices leading up to the sale?
My nephew was hired to photograph a wedding in Summer 2017. He was paid several hundred dollars (maybe more?). At the time, everything went well. The client was sent previews and a download link. The wife previewed the images upon receipt of the files and said she was thrilled. At that point, my nephew and the client parted ways.
Fast foreword to last week. The wife contacted my nephew asking where her photos are. The web host deleted the files and she claims to have never downloaded them, only previewed on the host website. Nephew has since replaced the hard drive the RAW images were stored on and likely doesn’t have them anymore. The wife is now threatening to sue because the contrac
I’m remodeling my living room and put all books and media into cardboard boxes in the garage. Due to a contractor goof, everything in the garage got covered in nasty water while I wasn’t home. Entire collection was soaked. All the covers are trash, including the Bergman’s Cinema box and book. I’m crushed that years of collecting was ruined in minutes. I never thought I’d get hit with a freak accident like this. Luckily the discs rinsed off ok, though I was advised to not keep them…yeah it was gross.
I really hate to make this kind of request, but…can anyone help me with “replacing” the covers? Criterion only has in-print covers and it would cost a fortune to replace them all.
After some comments on that politics sub, I found an interesting article that refutes the findings that concluded that Voter ID in the US disenfranchise minority voters. What are everyone’s thoughts?
In the past few months, I have noticed that every time there is criticism of a public figure here or on r/BayArea there are hostile replies to rational, well-thought out comments. It always turns to obnoxious personal attacks that are violating the subs rules. These users all sound like the exact same person: irrationally angry, immature, irrelevant, and with poor grammar. They often use cherry picked Tweets or unsubstantiated opinion articles and say they are going to “own” the argument. Most of the time they are aggressively evasive or only tangentially related to the topic being discussed in the thread. Taunting, childish name calling, and insults are inevitable. They end up quickly delet
I am conflicted about the sanctimonious attitude that has become prevalent in America, especially in younger people.
Every country is built on stolen land. Every county benefited from slavery. Every group of humans was at one point enslaved. How can anyone on Earth claim a moral high ground when those are historical truths?
We can change how we shape the future, but we can’t change the past.
