Any reputable and skilled seamsters?

As the title says. Asking for a friend of mine who is a massive Whovian. The coat would preferably be of materials and quality that allows for regular use, not just for cosplay events. My friend's frame isn't quite the same as Baker's so would be nice if the artist knew how to adapt while keeping it generally accurate to the original. He would of course be happy to pay for a quality product.

If a seamster happens to be in London/Seattle/Lisbon/Boulder, a meeting for measurements/fitting etc. might be possible.

Back in the day, before algorithms etc. what we had was webportals that specialized in linking sites with interesting contents. These were manually updated by people who were interested in whatever their site was about.

We still have some stuff like this, arguably Reddit sort of functions in this way still but it's kind of a mix of the old way of peer-to-peer content sharing and algorithms (and let's face it: an ungodly amount of bots). However mostly it seems to have gone out of fashion due to automatic algorithms (+bots) out-competing manual posting from people. However this is mostly true for most common denominator type stuff. It's easy to have algorithms push some topic of interest in

There's 65k users in this sub, which is a decent amount but really, even if all of them were real people with 100% commitment to only buying European, it wouldn't make any difference. I'm all for trashing Meta and TikTok and especially Xitter but I'm sure there's a ton of people out there who for whatever reason can't/won't get off those platforms. Ok, if you're one of those, post the guides and memes and Like and Repost the posts on this from others. Especially the latter. Make a point of looking for the hashtags etc. and like and repost, comment if possible.

And just ignore the trolls who post "[yet you're on An American Service](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/036/64

As I understand, Lemmy is kind of a meta-internet as a whole (fediverse is a meta-meta-internet I guess), which includes Instances that are more closely relatable to different websites. So lemmy.world and sopuli.xyz are like reddit and discord, that may then have their own user-created communities. The difference being that I can have an account on sopuli and then follow content from lemmy.world - however if I want to enagage with the content from lemmy.world, I'd need to have an account there.

Looking at pricing on https://elest.io/pricing to get a cursory idea of expenses, I get the feeling that creating a Lemmy instance is fairly low bar, but can quickly become very expensive. The

Enjoying the game so far (just found the first part of Durin's Axe) but man I wish I was able to take cool furniture back into my base. There's a pristine bed of the finest dwarven craftsmanship in one of the houses just near the tutorial base and I can't drag it back? Instead my dwarf nests on the floor on some questionable cloth scraps (well I suppose they are dwarven crafts too but still).

I get that carpentry, or stone masonry might not be the highest priority for the lost dwarf, so I don't mind not being able to create furniture from scratch but not being able to make use of the things in the environment really feels like a missing, or I hope, a pending feature. Or rather not fully imp

Sorry, this got very disjointed and rambly, there's a TL;DR at the bottom.

I'm mostly thinking of YouTube but honestly this is true for a lot of social media.

There needs to be a concentrated effort to move to ONE viable alternative. People who upload videos to Youtube (and have actual viewership) would have to upload a teaser to Youtube and then direct people to watch the full video on the alternative. How many content creators would be willing to do that? I really hate it but it's possible that unless EU makes some efforts to control YouTube (and make it more shitty for EU users to be frank), it may be very hard to disentangle from it. They'd have to give same treatment to TikTok t

Is there such a project? I've succesfully made some triangle scarves that just use chain, single and double crochet but I'd like to try something that expands on that. So I can better understand the logic of crochet. ... if that makes sense. Sorry if my terminology is off, not a native english speaker.

Thank you in advance!

Title.

I'm involved with people who like to mix fact with fiction a lot and their talk about fascia is starting to annoy me. Yes, stretching is good and all but they're starting to talk about fascia as if manipulating it was the magical cure all for every ailment in the world. However it seems somewhat obscure so asking if there are good sources for me to read that would help me gain some understanding of it. As currently, they know more about it than I do, but I'm pretty sure they're drawing conclusions that don't track.
