(This post is to address this comment, but it's from an old thread and I wasn't going to do all this research for one person to read.)

We all know Starlink support has... issues.

You're increasingly expected to battle Grok to get your concern addressed; figuring out how to talk to an actual person can feel like an engineering assignment.

Starlink is essentially, single-handedly leading the way towards an AI support apocalypse.

(I want to be clear here. I love starlink, I just hate their support paradigm. And also to be clear, I am not saying starlink is a specifically "evil company" f

Recently on an Instagram doom scrolling session, I encountered this interview from Steve Ballmer where he describe his "guessing game", which he gave to interviewees at Microsoft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svCYbkS0Sjk

The basics are:

  • Steve Ballmer chooses a number between 1 and 100.
  • The interviewee guesses a number, and Steve will tell you if it's high or low.
  • If you get it correct on the first guess, then you get $5. Each additional guess reduces the prize by $1, until on the 7th guess you start paying him.

(watch the video if that's not clear)

Should you play this game?

Now, this analysis is pretty easy if Steve chooses a random number. The worst case binary search is lg(1

As per the title, US Mobile will soon lose priority data on 4g/LTE on warp.

This thread is being posted in response to another thread where there seems to be copious confusion about this.

  1. Warp DOES currently have QCI-8 (priority data) on LTE has long as you have a 5g device. Source: "That means each byte of data you use on a 5G device on our Unlimited All, Unlimited Bundle, Pooled, and Custom Plans will be prioritized — even on your 4G LTE fallback."

Bring us data sims please!

As far I know, multi-network add-on still uses a second phone number even though that's completely unnecessary and prevents US Mobile from bringing it's multi-network add-on fee to the level it should be.

Further, it'd be super useful to be able to add a data sim to my pool for only a few dollars per month.

(data sims will be cheaper for US Mobile because they are not taxed at the same level. And even though the customer doesn't pay these taxes directly, we do pay them indirectly.)

r/CreditCards•

I signed up for a US Bank smartly card at the beginning of the year but I haven't actually used it at all yet because by the time I was getting around to moving over some assets for the 4% back, it looked like it might be discontinued.

I mean I guess the question I want answered is... should I go ahead and move over 100k in assets? Or is it a waste of time?

I was going through a dark time, and accidentally let a healthcare bill of $40 go to collections.

I know I can probably call the hospital and get them to pull it back from collections and pay it, but I am curious:

My understanding is that healthcare bills can no longer go to your credit report. What are the pros and cons of paying it directly to the credit agency vs paying it through the hospital?

If you spend time looking into obscure earthbound facts, you might come across a tidbit about there being cut content from the game where you can find a fake ticket to the chaos theatre.

You see that referenced here: https://x.com/obscuremother/status/1765118541676646626

It references that there was a cut character known as the "Weakest Man in All of Twoson" that would provide this ticket.

However, I remember, probably a decade ago or more, coming across this line of dialog. I specifically remember somehow obtaining a fake ticket, and being weirdly offended that the ticket lady thought my ticket was fake. I don't recall how I would've obtained said ticket, however.

Maybe from someone who
