I'm having an issue where a lot of my videos are being uploaded to the shorts function despite me never uploading them to the shorts function. I have read through here before where a lot of people are stating that if my video is under 3 minutes that it would potentially be automatically uploaded over there. Like okay, I understand, but that doesn't help me with my current question

Why did youtube retroactive my videos onto the shorts? Because I know I've uploaded a lot of videos before YouTube shorts was even a thing. Typically I would just lurk everywhere until I can find what I need or hope that somebody has enough good graces to share with me, but it seems my luck has run out with my car being in the shop for major repairs.

To give some background, up until the last week of Feb I had a car. Had a mini explosion with the water valve pump but still wouldn't go into drive and it's now sitting at mechanics. Since then I was borrowing someone's scooter until getting my own but had wiped out on theirs by trying to not get slammed by a car that came out of nowhere too fast and hit a speed bump. He apologized for rushing and that I wiped out, but I was just glad to not hit my noggin as my right arm caught between it and the asphalt.
