Extremely advanced aggressive skier (can ski all the runs at Northstar), looking to PR my speed record. Which run in the Tahoe area is the best place to try for it?

I have been struggling lately to get down the blues without falling repeatedly. I went down a black once without falling so I know I am advanced. I think the problem is my skis. I have tried all the demos at my local mountain, and none seem to make me ski better. Looking for suggestions on some boutique skis that are going to be better for my skier type that the mass market brands.
