I've found a lot of info on making bubble hash from fresh frozen trim and cured buds, but haven't come across anything on running freshly harvested plant material. I was thinking about doing a test run of filling a bubble machine with ice and just clipping buds off the plant, and then tossing them (minus fan leaves) straight into the machine and running it right away. Has anybody else tried this? Would it be better to further trim/chop up the buds or to just throw them in whole?

Anybody know of one? I know I can just throw some plastic bags in a regular saddle bag but it would be super handy if there was one with like a little nylon hood that stuffed into a pocket you could just whip out and throw over your seat quick.

I'm trying to figure out a way to either mount a basket to my rear rack without interfering with my panniers, or add a quick release to the basket to speed up the switch. My current setup is axiom hydracore panniers, whose quick release hardware extends above the top of the rack, and a milk crate. I need to either find a way to mount the milk crate a) securely and b) in such a way that I can get the pannier on and off without removing the milk crate, or to add a quick release to the milk crate (or buy a basket with this feature built in) so that I can at least swap one for the other without spending 10 minutes #!%^ing around with straps and bungees.

Anybody know where I could find some olive drab bar tape (or at least a non-flourescent shade of green?) The only thing I've been able to find is Brooks' green leather tape, but I don't like how it looks, and it's way too expensive.

I was looking at this as a backup firestarter and I was just wondering if anybody has used one. There are a lot of similar designs out there, but all of them seem to have an itty bitty scraper with all of about 1/2" of handle to grab it with. Can you produce sparks by scraping the rod with the back side of a knife?
