Hi everyone!

My mom recently sent over an electric mattress blanket/pad from South Korea that uses 220V, 60 Hz (200W) according to the manual. However, I'm in the UK which uses 230V, 50 Hz. Is it safe to use in the UK? I bought a EU to UK plug adapter and am planning to use it with a surge protected extension cord. Would it be okay like this?

Thank you!

Hi everyone :) I recently moved to the UK and have been on Mercilon for 2 months and have been finding it pretty bad, giving me mild depression and wild mood swings. Previously in the US I had been taking Microgestin FE 1/20 (Norethindrone: 1 mg, Ethinylestradiol: 0.02 mg) which worked amazingly and when I went abroad had Bellaface ( Dienogest: 2 mg, Ethinylestradiol: 0.03 mg).

I'm trying to find something similar here in the UK but the closest match, Loestrin 20 isn't being produced anymore. The one that seems closest now is Norimin with (Norethindrone: 0.5 mg, Ethinlestradiol: 0.035mg). I'm really worried about the increased estrogen levels though. Does anyone have experience with this b

Hi everyone :) i was just offered a job in Edinburgh with a salary of 28k with minimal benefits. I was wondering if that’s enough to live on especially with the rising bills. Ideally, it would be enough for a double room in an okay area, saving money, an occasional holiday and bills/groceries.

This would be my first job in the UK so I guess I’m kinda worried especially since they don’t offer health insurance (I heard the NHS waitlists were quite long). Any insights would be great :)

Thank you!

Hi everyone :)

I submitted my biometrics on Aug 19th in Panama City but then had to return home so sent my passport to the center in Bogota, Colombia as I was instructed to do so. They received it on Aug 25 and since then I haven’t heard anything back whether it be asking for more documents or that my docs/passport were sent to UKVI.

I know it’s only been 2 weeks since but from most of the posts I’ve seen here, a lot of people had their passport sent to UKVI quickly or had been asked for documents. I’m just a little worried and am wondering if anyone is/was in a similar situation.

High Potential Visa Bogota

Other: North America

Hi everyone! This is a bit of a longshot but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I just had my biometrics done in Panama despite living in Nicaragua. I was told that once I arrived home, I would need to send my passport to the VFS Global in Bogota, Colombia.

However, they only gave me the address and not the person who will receive it, their email, and phone number. As such, I am unable to send the DHL with my passport and I am so frustrated that I didn’t realize it earlier.

Does anyone have any information on the Bogota center or if there’s any way I can call them or something?

Thank you!!

Hi everyone! I’m a newcomer here and have been trying to find a canvas tote bag for the longest time.

I don’t particularly want an expensive one but a sturdy, cotton one would be ideal if possible :)

Does anyone have any possible leads?

Hi! I'm going to visiting Edinburgh soon and will be taking around $500 cash and was wondering where I could exchange it for pounds at the best rate. Unfortunately, I'm currently residing in Central America and was unable to exchange the dollars for pounds at home. Therefore, I'm hoping to do it for a good rate in Edinburgh if possible.

Also, I was wondering if Discover was usable in the UK at all. I googled online but received mixed answers and most of them were from years ago. Thank you :)

I'm trying to get an official transcript for a visa reason to another country and I'm trying to get the online version in
