Is there anywhere in the Portland area with NYE fireworks? I know Mt. Hood has an event but I was hoping for something in town.

I just got my offer list and I am astounded at the amount of garbage offered. So many offers that have nothing to do with my qualifications or interest. Why were they even offered? I'm talking tons of computer sci and mechanical engineering (I'm a biologist and can't program), marketing, and stuff clearly for undergraduates (I'm a graduate student). It's almost like most of them didn't read the application at all and just need bodies. Overall I'm just really disappointed.

I am a USA PhD student applying for an IAESTE internship. The "essay" portion is surprisingly intimidating - they request only 1-2 sentence responses for each question. Does anyone have a sample of successful "essay" responses?

Also, for transcripts, do they only want my graduate transcripts/courses or do they also want undergrad?

I read that muscle belly length and tendon length vary among individuals. While this seems obvious from casual observation, the only references I see to this are on fitness forums and blogs.

I am looking for a scientific source describing individual variation in muscle belly length and/or tendon length, as a proportion of bone length. The source would preferably show measurements, but I'm not that picky.

Does anyone know of such a source? Thank you!

I know this was really long ago, but about 9 months ago I set up a swap with lily_badwolf. I sent my package and (I assume?) it arrived. Her's got returned to sender and she was going to resend it but I never got it. She hasn't been online in 8 months. I messaged her about a month later trying to get an update and nothing:( I kind of forgot about it until now. I'm really bummed, it was only my second exchange and I paid $40-50 for the items plus shipping:/ I have her address but I'm not comfortable posting it obviously. It's been so long that I think I'd might as well forget about it, but I at least hope she's okay. Any suggestions?
