In TLJ, we’re shown that Maz is fighting in some kind of “union dispute”??? TFA established her to be an important character as she knows much about the Force and even has Luke’s lightsaber.

The FO blew up her establishment, the resistance is running for their lives and Maz can’t be bothered because of a union dispute??? What kind of nonsensical story is this? Sorry for the rant, but the careless writing of TLJ gets my blood boiling...

If we have to see Maz in TLJ, why wouldn’t she be fighting the FO or something...

I've been reflecting on the my thoughts before the PT was released and when the ST was announced. Like many of you, I saw ANH when it was first released in theaters so I've been into Star Wars a long time. When Lucas announced he was making the PT, I felt some anxiety. Obviously excited, but I was genuinely concerned. I can remember thinking "just don't screw it up". The PT wasn't great, but it did nothing to leave me with the feeling that Star Wars as I had always known it was somehow screwed up. Fast forward to the announcement of the upcoming ST. My feelings were the same as before the PT - I can remember thinking "just don't screw it up". I was relieved after watching TFA. Agai

This is only my opinion - no science to back it up. But, hardcore fans (people like us) create 90%+ of the buzz/excitement about upcoming movies. When TFA was on its way, I was buzzing about it - essentially marketing the movie for Disney. I did the same thing when TLJ was on its way. Everywhere I looked (YouTube, Facebook, etc.) I'd see excitement about the upcoming movies and I was an active part of that buzz.

But, look at Solo, there was very little "buzz" about Solo - as many of us were (are) still upset about TLJ and the way we've been dismissed by Disney, etc. As we all know, Solo bombed hard. There won't be near as much buzz about IX - regardless of Lucasfilm's marketing effo

Saw Solo yesterday with my family and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Like many others, I tried to enter the theater with no expectations and this helped tremendously. Solo is probably my 2nd favorite of the Disney Star Wars movies - behind RO. I loved Han’s character arc in that it stayed true to showing how Han could become a distrusting, cynical smuggler. All that said, I was not at all excited to go see this one. My wife and I have a tradition of seeing all Star Wars movies on opening night together, but not this time.
