I noticed this latest update downloaded super fast via DCS Updater with no torrent shenanigans going on. So I looked at where it was downloading from and saw it was a CDN called CDN77.

This eliminates the biggest drawback to standalone compared to Steam.

I keep getting friend suggestions that appear as notifications. I see the tray icon change and think it's an actual useful message, but nope, just another useless friend suggestion. In the most recent case, I have no idea why it suggested this person. We have no common friends or servers, and I don't recognize them at all. What good is that?

I don't want friend suggestions, ever. How can I turn this annoying feature off?

I've been playing with the most excellent Interesting Mission Generator and sometimes, in bad weather, ATC answers my inbound request with "Go to alternate". Does anyone know what exact condition(s) will trigger this response? My guess is it happens when there's a cloud layer lower than X meters, but so far I've defied ATC every time and landed there anyway - usually without much trouble. No IFR craziness needed.

Anyone else try this yet? I flew for about an hour last night around the strip with the Oculus Rift DK2 and L-39, Mi-8, and Huey. The immersion was very impressive, especially the cars on the roads, but also the mountains in the distance.

I couldn't get the smooth 75fps I had in 1.5 beta on the Black Sea map. I was at half vsync (37fps) most of the time regardless of settings. Tried the alt+enter trick but it didn't seem to make a difference. Will experiment more tonight. Still had fun even with the judder!

PC is Windows 7, i7-4770K, GTX780, 32GB RAM. Oculus runtime 0.8.0.0.

Also, loved the new option to remove the gunsight from the L-39. Thanks ED!!! Very helpful for VR!
