Adderall and Ritalin did nothing for me (even at max dose), Strattera is doing very little. Ive read of research where people report that nicotine patches increase their focus and reduce their levels of inattentiveness......

The psychiatrist said hes done all he can do for me, and I'm devastated there's no medication that can help me. At this point in time, I'm seriously going to consider giving nicotine patches a shot. Has anyone experimented with nicotine patches to increase their attention span?

I'm beginning to think my inattentiveness, brain fog, mind wandering and lethargy (which led to the ADHD-pi diagnosis) might be SCT. My psychiatrist, since he thinks there is no such thing as SCT, is sending me to psychotherapy now for ADHD (PI). He doesn't think Strattera will work (he cites studies showing it only helps ADHD a little bit at most), but I've been reading that Strattera might be good for SCT.

Thing is, my insurance doesn't cover Strattera or its generic version. Really expensive. I'd appreciate any feedback if I should push my psychiatrist into prescribing Strattera (or asking for a second opinion).

I tried phenelzine at 90 mg between January and March. What happened was it was kind of working initially in February but the positive effects pretty much disappeared by early March.

My psychiatrist's thinking it's time for ECT now as he believes "if you don't respond to phenelzine you wont respond to parnate". Have any of you had positive experiences with parnate, but not phenelzine? I want ECT to be an absolute last resort.

I've been on Nardil for 3 months (and for 2 of these months, on the full dose of 90 mg). While some of my symptoms are improving, it's done absolutely nothing with regard to increasing my motivation or concentration. Has anyone else had this problem with nardil (or parnate) that theres no improvement in concentration or motivation, even after 3 months of being on MAOIs? I'm legitimately afraid at this point I might need to get electroshock therapy.....
