I live in Melbourne, Australia and wear a lightweight down jacket (Macpac Uber) nearly all year long. My main activities are work from home, commute, playground (mostly standing), outings to the zoo, farm, orchard.

In transitional seasons, I wear it both indoors and outdoors from Autumn to Spring. I am mostly static and run cold 🥶

This is my current gear

Occasionally when I feel it’s too windy and cold in Winer I wear this:

In terms of practicality I really love the lightweight puffer jacket. I’m comfortable in it in a very wide range

New to this.

Have a 3 yo kid

We are new to this but now own

  • travel switching set
  • magnetic action crossing
  • magnetic signal bell
  • ikea lillabo tracks

We really enjoy it all!

Initially we started small with travel switching & didn’t buy the deluxe because we weren’t sure how into trains we would be. As it turns out we love it, and probably could have done the deluxe to start with - but I’m seeing this as an option to give us more flexibility on what to add. We picked up 1 bell and 1 crossing second hand and that has really added to our enjoyment.

Given how much we enjoyed these second hand pickups, I’m wondering what sets and accessories we should consider prioritising, and how to
