Has anyone here seen “RaceWithRobbie” on YouTube? His videos give bike for advice. He seems to be giving opposite advice than other bike fitters. His thing appears to be advise a posterior pelvic tilt rather than a slight anterior pelvic tilt.

What do you make of his bike fit advice?

Remco at his peak can climb very well, see the tour in 2024 and this year. But then from UAE tour to the spring classics, he was varying degrees of way off his best climbing form. Then again this autumn, he’s looked off his best. Do you think this is because physique? He seems like he puts on more muscle than a typical road cyclist, when he’s in top TdF shape he looks very much like a GC rider, but at other points slightly less so.

I have chronic exertional compartment syndrome and I’m waiting for surgery to correct it. For those that don’t know it causes an increase in pressure in the lower legs with exercise that can reduce blood flow. If I do 9min on 1min off then the symptoms are non existent or minimal.

How can I find people to ride with on Zwift willing to deal with me having to stop that often?

I am a male who knows someone with PMOS/PCOS and I have a few questions.

  1. What are the main struggles for people with PMOS, not necessarily symptoms but what things mentally/emotionally are most difficult? What things are the biggest struggles as a result of symptoms
? I want to better understand what it is like to live with PMOS.

  2. What things can someone do to support a partner who has PMOS?

  3. more broadly how can I be supportive of those with PMOS, are there charities supporting research I can donate to? Are there things I can do to support people with PMOS?

In cycling FTP is the “how much do you bench” metric, in running it’s 5k time (or maybe 10k, half marathon or marathon, depending on who you talk to).

A goal for a lot of runners is a sub 20 5k (or sub 90min half or sub 3 marathon, I’m not equating those performances just saying they’re common goals). What is the FTP equivalent to a sub 20 5k or sub 3 marathon?

A friend of mine prompted this discussion, he recently got into running and has set himself the goal of getting to a 20min 5k and asked what I think the equivalent in cycling would be.

1225 days ago my girlfriend and best friend left. Now I’m just in this weird numb place where I have no desire to really be sociable, be with friends or make new friends or meet new people. But at the same time I’m so lonely. I don’t know how to fix this. A lot of the time it feels like my only real friend is my dog.

I understand fans will be opinionated and at times have wild takes, maybe they don’t like a certain rider for whatever reason so that affects their judgement.

But the media for the last 18 months have said things like “Remco can’t climb”, “Remco can’t climb in the mountains” and “Remco isn’t a GC rider.” For example, in a recent GCN video Dan Lloyd (former pro rider and commentator) said “I concluded after watching him the last 2 years that he doesn’t have what it takes to compete with the best GC riders.” Remco himself has mentioned the Belgian media saying similar things.

I know Remco can be inconsistent but he has clearly shown in his career he can climb and can compete as a GC rider.

I am doing low cadence intervals simply because I live in a flat area and I’m going to be going somewhere with steep climbs later this summer. So I want to get conditioned somewhat to lower cadences. I don’t ordinarily do these intervals. But when I’ve been looking at what coaches say about them, I’ve noticed a lot of them overconstrain the prescriptions. Ie. They will say ride 5x4min at 40-50 RPM, 80% FTP, 0.9-1.1 nM/kg. Is there a reason for this I’m missing or is this simply a mistake?
