Does it bother anyone else how prevalent this deckbuilding formula is?
It's subjective I know, but I find it a very thematically boring card. Swapping out all of the biggest and most exciting units for more tempo on midrange cards is just less exciting to me - and yet it's everywhere, in every faction and practically every other archetype.
At the same time I have to recognise that, mechanically, it has something to offer. Consistency and tempo can make engine decks perform really well. I can see it being a fun deckbuilding format for a long time Gwent vet who's seen and played everything.
Speaking as someone relatively new, though - I wish the balance incentivised top end cards more than
I'm starting my first playthrough of this game for about 8 years, and trying to decide on a build.
I never used Farron GS or Hollowslayer GS so I'm going with them this time. Wiki tells me these are Dex-leaning quality weapons, so I think I'll do a Dex build. I grabbed the winblades as a starter but I don't want to use something that strong for most of the game. I'm also gonna try out the Astora UGS.
In the past I used Murakumo, Drang Twinspears and Uchi.
Do you recommend any Dex weapons I didn't mention? Bonus points if found early or not a katana or UGS.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm looking for a grounding in circuit design, particularly in relation to PV and BESS installations behind-the-meter.
I have a physics background and a fair bit of half forgotten knowledge of electromagnetic theory - I need more familiarity of the fundamentals of circuitry for a new role. Can anyone recommend a good textbook or learning resource? Thank you.
My Dad is nearing retirement and I want to get him a console - he bought an Xbox with Splinter Cell when I was young that immediately became my Xbox.
I think he'd like games that are:
-
Fairly slow-paced: he doesn't have the muscle memory for a fast action game, so stealth would probably suit him.
-
Grounded settings: I think a fantasy setting might put him off a bit.
The only stealth games I remember getting into are Dishonoured and Crysis 2. I've heard good things about Thief but never picked it up. Any recs would be great 👍
I made a SK warriors/master mirror deck for cycle quests, but it's struggling. Any tips?

reddit.comHi, fairly new here (been playing about 1-1.5mo)
I've noticed that a lot of cycle quests seem surprisingly hard to trigger. Examples:
-
'Deathblow' cards don't seem to get counted when I play skellige raids. Do I have to actually deathblow with them as opposed to triggering the effect through bloodlust or devotion?
-
'Summon' cards don't seem to count when I'm summoning frost, but that's the only good deck I have with 'summon' cards...
-
Win 10 games with 13 PoP/MM cards - I completed this quest (took ages, why is it medium difficulty?) and then it came up again, except the same deck is no longer counting wins towards it??
Am I doing something wrong or does everyone deal with this?
A little while back I set myself the challenge of hitting rank 26 with every hero in solos. The Raikichi effort has been miserable.
He needs attacks with a little range so that he can hit the opponent and get sparks. He also has zero range until he has sparks.
Every match is a long stretch of tedious waiting for the opponent to give opportunities to me, followed by a brief string of damage from his block breaking moves. It's not fun to play and it can't be fun to play against.
Anyone who enjoys him: please, help me rank him up so I can forever ditch this miserable character.
Hello - first playthrough, did a skill build, and I'm trying to decide on what weapon to dump my upgrade materials in at this point.
I'm at Nightmare of Mensis, level 74, with a +9 saw spear and a +6 threaded cane. I've also got the DLC, and just picked up the beasthunter saif.
Roughly how close am I to the following weapons? Ideally I'd try them all before upgrading one, but if they're hours and hours away then I probably won't. No spoilers please!
-
Blade of mercy: I missed Eileen in Yharnam, so I won't meet her until the 'grand cathedral' at the end of her quest apparently.
-
Reiterpallasch
-
Chikage
-
Simon's Bowblade
-
Rakuyo
Does anyone remember roughly when Inshes and Inverness retail parks were built? All I can tell is that it was before 2008 when the first street view images were taken for Google maps. Would appreciate the help if anyone knows
