Hi all, just want some clarification on everything. There's lots of conflicting information around and just want confirmation for our scenario.

My wife came without inspection ~15 years ago, and got DACA. She has work authorization currently. I am a US citizen, we have two kids born in the US.

What is the form process and when/how long/does she need to leave the country? I thought it was just a I-130 and then I-485 but it seems like it's not quite that straightforward.

Appreciate the help!

What is the canonical way to structure a project? No matter what I do I end up having import issues at some point. I am using uv and creating a project with it's own venv. My folder structure is generally something like:
project_folder/
notebooks/
stuff.ipynb
src/
custom_utils/
modeling.py
other_stuff_i_want_to_import/
special_class.py
scripts/
script.py

How can I consistently create helper functions or classes that I want to use across my notebooks and my .py scripts, without running into import issues? I use VSCode if that's relevant.

Ideally I can just do 'from custom_utils import modeling' and it will just

What My Project Does

Hey all, I made this project that sets the theme for your matplotlib and Seaborn plots so that they match your VSCode theme, that way you don't have bright white plots in your notebook if you are working with a dark theme. Here's a link to the repo: https://github.com/sharedw/vscode-plotting-theme

Currently this works on Windows, for any custom themes, and many of the built in themes. Feel free to submit a PR for mac/Linux if you are on those platforms.

Target Audience

Anybody who is plotting in VSCode notebooks and likes dark themes.

Comparison

I haven't found a similar tool, the other options are just s

Hi all, here's the problem I'm working on. I'm working on an NFL play by play game simulator. For a given rush play, I have some input features, and I'd like to be able to have a model that I can sample the number of yards gained from. If I use xgboost or similar I only get a point estimate, and can't easily sample from this because of the shape of the actual data's distribution. What's a good way to get a distribution that I can sample from? I've looked into quantile regression, KDEs, and bayesian methods but still not sure what my best bet is.

Thanks!
