The core Metropolitan worlds that have no personal scarcity are Union.
The Diaspora full of countless worlds that does not have full gay luxury space communism are also (claimed by) Union, from people living in barely industrialised tribes like the Sparri, to the Star Warsy kind of situations we see in Dustgrave or the Dune-like organisation of the KTB.
The KTB is Union.
Every corpostate is Union.
The only people not Union (nominally) are the Aunic Ascendancy, and everyone too far away from Union to be recontacted in some way with omnihooks and the omninet yet. And Union explicitly believes that its end goal is to unite all of humanity under it, even post SecComm.

I have two monitors, identical. Right now the monitor labelled as 'monitor 2' is on the left and is my main monitor.
But the cosmic panel puts all the notification tray icons on 'monitor 1'. I have no option to redesignate monitors. Surely this means that the system does have a concept of a 'main display' or 'primary display', I'm just not allowed to pick it.
TIl the term 'brainwashing' in English was invented by anticommunists to explain why defectors and POWs were confessing to actual war crimes and biowarfare
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BrainwashingI'm not sure if this is a change in the cosmic greeter or something to do with the NVIDIA drivers. It wasn't happening before, but it is now.
I have two monitors, one via HDMI and the other via DisplayPort as secondary. Everything works fine on a boot and login. But when I return and login after leaving the computer alone, the second screen either isn't detected at all or displays weird wobbly and flashing of the screen elements.
The problem is fixed if I hit Ctrl Alt F2 to open a tty session and then Ctrl Alt F1 to return to the regular screens, so it seems like reinitialising the display fixes the problem? But just powering the monitor on and off doesn't.
I was thinking recently about Bad Times at the El Royale which definitely feels inspired by Tarantino and similar directors recently. And recently I watched an Indian movie, The Man Who Feels No Pain (2018) that is very postmodern and meta at times - the character occasionally fantasies about an action scene but then cuts to what 'really' happened, it often references other movies (Avengers, Justice League, Inglourious Basterds, THX1138 all get namedropped or referenced in obvious ways), there's a full musical flashback to explain a character's past that's very different from a 'standard' Bollywood dance number.
Are there some other solid directors and movies from across the world wit
I haven't done anything particularly weird to it, just customised it so it has the same rough layout as, say, Windows 10, and added the menu Applet to work similar to a Start menu (not that I ever really use it, just for familiarity).
Once or twice a day I notice the panel disappear and restart, suggesting it crashed and restarted, but I can't imagine what's actually causing it. I'm almost never actually doing anything with the panel when this happens (just on my browser as normal).
Recently I even had an issue where it didn't come back at all. I just had to kill the Cosmic DE entirely and let it restart itself.
I'm on PopOS24.04 but I don't think that should impact any of this, other than using cosmic terminal...
My user account name is 'wintwunt'.
If i type groups into the terminal I get the result:
groups
wintwunt adm sudo lpadmin i2c
Nothing in the video group.
But if I type cat /etc/groups/ and scroll down
One of the entries is:
video:x:44:cosmic-greeter,greeter,wintwunt
What gives? I'm part of the video group, why am I not listed when I use groups?
I have a physical Steam Link, decided to see if it would work with my Linux installation... Sound plays but video is a failure. I tried a bunch of different hardware encoding settings in steam's options, but no dice - best I got was it rendering part of the menu but no games. It's like the stream itself is failing.
Most common result is that something will render for half-a-second and then freeze, with the 'connection issue' red notification in the bottom left. For example, switching between games in the menu, it would show the 'menu page' for that game and then freeze. I could do that from game to game.
Running with the -pipewire option didn't help but the terminal was filled with 'k_ESt
This is a tumblr or twitter post. The OP is watching a James Bond movie with their family and one of their family says they're all the same. The uncle says something like "some guy shoots another, then a mountain explodes"
The movie fan gets really angry, but the uncle knows that this was the exact movie where that exact thing happens. there is a quote something like "the path of the hater is to know more than a fan"
