The article basically sums up why I hate many choices netflix makes! I'd would LOVE to be able not waste my extremely expensive mobile data for streaming on the bus to work etc but apparently I'm happier that way according to their product manager!
I guess features like automatically deleting the video would be too difficult to implement lol!
Friend has about 12 R710's that he needs moved about 100KM from a major city to outskirts (60MI)
We'll likely use his car so does anyone have advice on moving that many servers in a vehicle without destroying car or servers?
A (possibly stupid) option is driving a few Km to the commuter train and getting some friends to help bring the servers (train is a lot smoother and less risk of car crash imo) Total driving distance would be under 10KM
Thanks for the input even to the trolls :P
Going to setup a remote access system for a friend who works in a private school. He wants to give students a virtual desktop to work on with office etc that they can access from home.
He wants to prevent misuse though, so aside from no admin access and blocking "bad websites" anyone have advice on securing the systems? I'm thinking of setting up a gpo to block usb's (his request) We have a widows 2012 server and clients are windows 8/10
They seem fairly cheap but can take a buttload of ram. I'm considering one for an esxi server with a few hundred vm's. Though I've never dealt with HP gear so I'm wondering if there is any reason to stay away?
I like bubble tea but Its always $4-5 minimum and usually not even that big. Anyone know of a cheaper place or somewhere that does refills
For fun I asked for the most basic issue I could imagine. The support went on some rant and just looked confused.
Apart from account issues (My resources don't show up) I don't think they've ever fixed an issue
Asking for a friend who wants to go into business/management. He has worked various jobs with only one in an office setting. He says he likes the atmosphere of being a student, and despite him having no savings, his parents are willing to pay for it so money isn't an issue, in his view. Is getting a degree with no experience likely to make getting an entry level job harder due to being overqualified?
I have a script on my windows PC's that auto connects to my vpn since my ISP has crap routing. I'm trying to figure out how I can auto connect to my vpn on login with Ubuntu, and start firefox.
I'm trying to go more in depth on virtualization in my lab. Right now I use hyper-v since I can still "use" the computer as a normal windows PC which before was an issue. Now I have a spare box I'm building from the ground up and I'm wondering what it's the best approach?
Is the performance any different between the two? Density is mostly my concern right now
The app is terrible and won't even open. The unofficial app just says error and I don't know enough about programming and web design to use any CLI tools yet. Anyone have help?
The app is $shit and doesn't work, but I don't have a lot of linux or CLI knowledge so I'm wondering if anyone has a guide on using the API
Want an lga2011 system but the r620 is about 2x the price but has 2x the ram slots. Is there any reason not to go with the HP? I heard they don't like random pci cards plus the lack of updates (no contact) seem like a pain.
