So, this is mega-subjective. Tons of names can be mentioned.

My list is rather random so don't worry too much. Could also include bgirls too, but I just focused on bboys for this here. Here we go:

1980s: Icey Ice

1990s: Bboy Ivan

2000s: Bboy Physicx

2010s: Bboy Issei

Many other names could replace some; bboy k-mel in the 1990s, bboy Cico was epic as well as bboy Brahim or bboy Blond or bboy The End. Or in the earlier days also bboy Storm, bboy Gombi - too many to name really. I am much weaker past 2020 as I have not been following the scene as closely as I did in the 1990s.

I got interested in middle to late 1990s in bboying, even danced for a while (but I was not really great; didn't much progress past a few windmills). Airtracks were eventually the rage into the 2000s. Anyway.

Recently I just tried to find the old members of the Barcelona Addictos crew. I couldn't really find useful results here. I tried to find a few other things that I remember, but the internet seems to have changed now. Google search is less useful than it once was, it seems. So many things I remember having found in the past, are now simply gone or hidden.

That also includes members of bboy crews. You can find some information in youtube comments but ... I am wondering. Am I the only o

I just finished reading the Amber trilogy; as the last book was written in 2008, I am only 17 years late to the party.

The next part may contain a few spoilers; I try to not give them away too much, but just names alone means spoiler territory.

Note that this review will not be super-long as I have to leave here in a few minutes and can't write a longer review right now.

The Amber trilogy concludes here about Mina. I should like that I still like Mina and the storyline, but the initial appearance of Mina was much, much better than the Mina storyline in the Amber trilogy. The Amber trilogy explains most things, so it kind of is a wrap-up, but I don't know. It felt as if two steps down, two

Google no longer allows ublock origin to be used from the official store because they are scared to make less money via ad milking. I am too adjusted to ublock origin to abandon it though.

For various reasons I am using chrome right now; I used thorium in the past but the release schedule of thorium was not ideal. Anyway.

I found a workaround where we can still use ublock origin; we have to go to dev mode and install it locally. However had, there was a notice that even this will no longer work. I forgot when it will no longer work, and now I am scared of upgrading chrome, because it could mean I would lose ublock origin, rendering chrome useless to me.

Does anyone of you folks know if an

Has rave survived the 1990s?

Discussion/Question

So my youth was in the 1990s. Naturally I am a little way past that now.

I did follow music quite a lot in the 1990s; for many reasons I barely follow music. I still listen to music daily, of course, but it is more varied, mixed, without clear purpose or preferences.

Eurodance kind of died in the early 2000s or so, give or take. LoveParade ended 2010 but its peak was already over before that.

We also have had Techno - that also seems gone.

Now ... we have trance and rave. I am not 100% certain about the difference. In my understanding rave also died, but trance did not die? It seems trance kind of adapted into the modern era, but I am fuzzy about the details.

It may also still exist in

I just watched Roy Jones Junior vs Lou Del Valle (again). Now, Roy dominated this fight, but there are two things I noticed:

  1. Roy was actually caught by Lou's left and he kind of slipped too, going down. This looked soooo similar to how Tarver caught Roy. Did Tarver study that fight?

  2. After the fight, Roy said that he found south paws harder to fight against - something along those lines.

It could be that Roy always had a somewhat harder time against south paws. I thought Tarver was mostly taking advantage of Roy not being in optimal shape losing weight (which is Roy's fault of course, not Tarvet), but in the fight against Lou del Valle where Roy was caught, he did not seem to see the

So, everyone here knows James Toney (I think); and there are current videos where his speech is quite bad and he is hard to understand.

I looked at a video, interview, where he was significantly younger:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EssKp4-Nw2Q

Here he also talks in a slurry and hard to understand manner.

Then a video from 2023:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7UGPOBQvWNU

He is not easy to understand, but I can understand him still.

Some other interviews are in between.

I then had a look at Muhamad Ali; he also has a similar problem as he got older, but more pronounced than James, in my opinion. A severe case is Riddick Bowe, here from 2021:

Thoughts about Tyson Gay in his prime?

General Discussion/Questions

So, the comment here is not about Tyson and the magic juice, but instead primarily of his technique; and also how great he was as a sprinter.

First, his personal bests in 100m and 200m were: 9.69 and 19.58.

His 200m time was ok but not that great. His 100m time was very good though, only two were faster - Bolt, and Blake (the latter may be debatable since it is the same time, but Gay had more wind, so I personally would give Blake the edge here due to that).

What I found most striking about Tyson was his technique though. His technique is very different to, say, Asafa Powell or Gatlin. The latter two have a very pronounced drive phase, very contained and only "open" it up more slowly. His

So, since when I was about 14 years old, perhaps even before (I don't quite remember; also didn't note it down), I have been reading Raymond E. Feist's books. I still do but not as much as I used to; plus Feist writes less.

He is soon 80 years old. While we all may hope that he lives many more years, I guess we can conclude he may be in the last stage of his life, and probably won't write that many more books before he calls it quits.

What do you think will be his legacy?

To me, what I will remember the most, is probably how the characters try, for the most part, to be "real" to the world as such. My favourite trilogy is the serpentwar e. g. Rise of a merchant Prince (Rupert) and Erik von

Goldmoon was naturally one of the early characters in Dragonlance; see how they met in that pub in the trees (well - The Inn of the Last Home).

There was a love story (with Riverwind). Goldmoon was quite important to the story - initially (see the story arc with the dragon and then her healing powers); I have to say I did not quite like the character back then much at all, neither Riverwind. They did not seem quite well into the group (admittedly Raistlin also did not fit well in the group).

I always liked Crysania more. The character was more interestingly developed, IMO. Anyway, what changed my mind was the story arc that tied Goldmoon to the "ghosts". I don't want to reveal the storylin

I'll remove a bit from the following quote, to not make it too spoiler-y as this referred to another character; Nightshade is from the Amber trilogy, one character there:

“I’m not,” Nightshade said solemnly. “Believe me, I wish I was. I
know this must sound crazy, since the last time we saw ... ...
was a grown-up and now .. grown down, but I’m pretty sure it’s ...

The relevant part is Nightshade first using the word "grown-up", and then quite logical, refer to someone who is smaller or younger as a "grown-down". You gotta appreciate kender!

Here is the wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ResuRection

Some context: not long ago I was debating on reddit the importance of the 1990s ("my" era, also my favourite era and where I was most active in regards to music, also playing piano and guitar to some extent, and dabbling in electronics but more as a noob/novice than anything else). I was mostly talking about two classic songs: Faithless Insomnia, and Robert Miles children, both songs which are great, right down to being epic and super-important from a legacy/history points of view, for different reasons.

Lately I am listening to some trance mix on youtube again, and PPK ResuRection pops up. It is unusual for many reas
