As we start May, this is me entering my 10th month of pumping.

It’s getting harder and harder I admit. The fatigue and hormones are something else.

I told myself I will stop by around 7th month when a twin mom friend of mine also stopped. That seemed like a good target. But now I want to touch that magic 12 month mark.

I used to make around 42 oz but now am down to about 34 oz. That still covers about 3 feeds per day for each baby. They are taking a total of 5 bottle feeds even now. I slowly plan to reduce the bottles.

Proud. Tired. Foggy.

4 heavy periods in 6 months

Postpartum Recovery

I am exactly 6 month PP. I had twin girls via emergency C section at 33 weeks due to PPROM and Pre eclampsia.

Also my babies are IVF twins after a long history of infertility with severe endometriosis/adenomyosis/repeated IVF failure.

My pregnancy as such was smooth - zero symptoms and aches/pains until the end.

Girls are thriving, I am pumping close to 45oz per day and top up about 15oz formula.

I started my first period exactly 3 month PP. Heavier than normal, soak through a pad in a few hours, bleeding through things, lasted 4-5 days.

Then I started getting it every 21 days. Now at 6 months PP, I have gotten 4 periods. All heavy and lasting 4-5 days.

I am meeting PCP today to g

My twins are turning 5 months end of Jan.

Eager to try new foods, Self motivated to eat.

I have heard about BLW and am looking into it.

Please share your tips and tricks. I want to get it right from the beginning because bad habits are hard to undo.

My fil and mil help out with the 5 month old twins.

I am very very grateful, trust me.

But sometimes I cannot understand how they are so dense or adamant.

They are fluent in English but also speak a native language (my husband and I are third culture kids) so I have eagerly asked them several times to speak to the babies in their native language, narrating stories and poems and songs. I strongly believe this will help their brain development. It doesn’t matter if the kids cannot respond. They are probably going to say their first word in a few months and language is so important.

But grandpa refuses. He won’t speak any language to the babies. He simply makes horsey noises and all bangs

Having kids after 30

Sexual & Reproductive health - Replies from women only

I saw a question yesterday about having kids after 30 and the majority of replies were encouraging about how you can have kids after 30 if you are healthy.

I think this subreddit can be a bit of an echo chamber so I wanted to share my story.

I started trying to get pregnant at 33, which is a standard age now for many women. Within 6 months I suspected something was wrong, researched and found experts. After a diagnostic laprscopy, I was told I have endometriosis. It had gotten so advanced with little warning that it pretty much destroyed my pelvic organs. After more surgeries and failed IVF procedures, I had twin babies through egg donor. They are our world and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Twin babies are 3.5 months corrected and 5 months actual age. Healthy, active, hitting corrected milestones like pros.

Please don’t tell me the following:

“oh, at about age 5”

“I will let you know when it happens”

“It doesn’t get better, you just become more capable at handling it better”.

That’s not what this tired mama wants to hear. It’s not encouraging, it’s not light at the end of the tunnel I am looking for.

When and what was that first feeling that your life is not truly over. When it stopped consuming you.

Rocking to a nap 8-10 times a day, feeding 14-16 times a day, diaper change 15-16 times a day,

double baths, double growth spurt crying, double regressions.. double

My Twin A (19 weeks chronological and 12 weeks age corrected) did her last tanking up feed at 8:30 pm and took a total of 32 oz in the day before sleeping.

She hasn’t woken up till 5 am to feed! Is that normal?

Twin B usually is behind Twin A by a few weeks in milestones. She still wakes up for 2 feeds at night.

(Twin A & B are both 90th-95th percentile for height and weight and paediatrician said last week that they looked perfect though we didn’t discuss sleep).

I stumbled on this subreddit and love reading your posts. Twins don’t run on our family so I have no idea how this going to be.

It’s a lottt of work taking care of 2 infants but I love them both to bits.

I can already see they are unique personalities so I try to go by their individual cues rather than treat them like a package. Hope they remain best friends for life.

Momentous day only you all will understand

good vibes, smiles, & giggles

The twins noticed each other first time simultaneously and cooed to each other while lying on their backs. They are 12 weeks age corrected.

B reached out with her hand and tried to use her fingers to grip A and gave a noisy laugh. She opened and closed her fingers in an attempt to grasp her sister’s hand.

She even tried to scoot on her back to move closer to A. There was a volley of back and forth between them. It was tender and the beginning of something big for this lifetime.

A has been noticing her sister since she was 8 weeks old and would try to put her hand out. She is a happy baby but B is a high needs baby so her constant cry would sometimes affect A and her face expression woul

12 week fussiness

advice needed

My twin B is high needs. Age corrected 12 weeks. Evening has become a nightmare. We try feeding changing, rocking, walking.

Nothing seems to work. They have a lot of saliva in the mouth this past week which makes me wonder if it’s an early teething sign.

I haven’t tried baby wearing in a few weeks. Will do that tmr to calm them down all day. Too late in the night for that now I think? It’s 7:30 pm.

They have been crying non-stop for 1.5 hours. We can’t sit down. Won’t latch. Well drink BM and formula out of a bottle as needed so we don’t think it’s hunger or cluster feeding. There’s something else happening and am not sure how to handle it. Husband and I are at wit’s end. Our arms have

Today was a hard day

ranting & venting

Twin B was super upset. 12 weeks age corrected. They got their 2nd dose vaccines yesterday.

She is generally the fussier twin. All other caregivers at home were sick so I was solely trying to calm her down and put her to bed.

The last 1 hour was so bad that I was afraid I was going to do something drastic. I was exhausted and overwhelmed. Her loud crying is still ringing in my ears hours later. She wouldn’t let me sit and my arms were hurting. She wouldn’t let me put on a sleep sack to get her to bed. Milk all over both our clothes and changing it out meant more loud crying. I was so done. I put her down in her crib safely, put her milk on the nightstand, went to another room and cried. M

How did you keep them on a schedule?

What about growth spurts when they get hungry/sleepy at random times?

What about when one was ready to give you 5-6 hour stretches but the other would not sleep beyond 3.5 hours? Did you still wake up both together?

Basically how does this ‘keep on a schedule work?’

Or is it only for twins who are in fact close together in sleep/feed/geowth?

Thank you.
