I was banned from r/pics for "ban evasion". I've never even posted to r/pics with another account so clearly an error.

I got an automated response and was muted as soon as I tried responding. I was told "The only way to appeal your ban is to contact the admins and to get them to confirm to us directly that it was a false positive."

The only place I can find to appeal is the appeals page, which doesn't let me appeal because apparently my account has never done anything wrong.

r/help doesn't let me talk about subreddit bans.

/appeals says "Your account is currently neither suspended nor restricted."

I have no idea where to go to sort this out.

I expanded my city, and assumed, naively, that because everything was connected to a heat exchanger, they'd not freeze. Obviously my small heating plant was not providing enough heat and my population plummeted. So after a few attempts to deal with it, I went back to an earlier save. It simply would have taken far too long to add more heat.

Is there anything I could have done to fix this though? I realise that I'd need to sacrifice a number of citizens (yes, I can be a callous ruler), but is there a way to cut off heating to some buildings, so the others can get up to a survivable temperature?

First time building a PC for a long time.

Using a Phantom Gaming B650I with a compact case with a riser board, and AMD Ryzen 5 7600 in case any of that's relevant.

System seems to work fine until I plug in a GeForce RTX4060. Then the sound fouls up - crackling popping noise - and performance doesn't seem to be there. Furmark gives inconsistent speed between about 10fps and 18fps. Not sure what I should be getting but surely it shouldn't be that low. Temperature seems to be fairly low so that's not the issue.

Anyone else had remotely similar experience? Any idea how I might diagnose? I'm really stumped.

There's a phone scam in Britain that keeps calling me. I get an automated call that's designed to sound as real as possible "Hi. I'm Jo. I'm one of the energy advisors in your local area...". It's actually a relatively sophisticated system with some basic voice recognition. From what I've learned this is a loft insulation scam. They'll send someone to do a "free" test and then tell you you need replacement insulation.

This time I decided to see what the next stage was so I gave a fake address and waited for a callback. An actual human called me.

Unfortunately after a bit of chit-chat I gave them "my address". Unfortunately UK postcode databases are fairly detailed and they realised it was

2D obstacle avoidance

Newbie Question

As a learning project, I'm creating a simple 2D, 2 player combat game. Each player has a plane and the idea is to shoot the other player and not crash into things.

What's the best way for the computer player to determine if it's about to crash into things? Ideally I think I'd like to know how close a fixed length line gets to specific objects.

Should I simply create a collider in front of the plane, or is there a nicer way to do this?

Last time this was asked was before the Elizabeth line was open. Wondering if public transport is viable now.

Last time I tried, on the way out, we walked down to Tottenham Court Road, and took the Elizabeth Line. Not terrible but my partner has health issues at the moment which makes walking a bit of a problem.

On the way back we tried taking the Elizabeth line to Paddington, got completely lost in Paddington, eventually found the right Paddington tube station for the Hammersmith and City line, got to Euston Square and lugged our cases up the stairs. Clearly that was a mistake.

Is there a better route for the next time we need to go to the airport, or should we just get a taxi for the
