I'm looking to get a PhD in Machine learning and I was wondering what programs you guys would recommend for me. I know I'm cutting it a bit close with deadlines (I already missed CMU) but it is what it is, I can't go back in time. Right now I'm looking at MIT and Georgia tech but I want to add more.

Here's a little background about me. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a degree in math in 2015. I have always been passionate about math and I did very well in math contests in high school and undergrad. I was a USA math olympiad winner in 2010 and later got top 10 on the Putnam.

After graduating I ended up in finance, first at SIG and then at a small niche hedge fund in Chicago. While in

I scored a 340!!! AMA

Other Discussion :snoo:

Hey guys, I just took the GRE on Friday and when I was finished I was given unofficial scores of 170 quantitative reasoning and 170 verbal reasoning. From what I understand unofficial scores almost never change so I'm quite excited.

I've taken the GRE once before, 6 years ago when I was a senior in college. I didn't end up going to grad school then but I'm considering going back now and since it's been over five years I had to retake the exam. My previous score was 170 quantitative and 169 verbal so there was only one way up from there and it looks like I made it.

Please ask me anything about my experiences and thoughts on the test

Does [[veteran adventurer]] activate [[umara mystic]]? I'm pretty sure it does because it's ability is a characteristic defining ability and should apply in all zones but my dad disagrees, who's right?

Suppose we recursively define two sequences as follows

A_0 = x, B_0 = y, 0<x<y

A_n+1 = (1 + A_n + A_n* B_n) /B_n

B_n+1 = (1 + B_n +A_n*B_n) /A_n

Find the limit as n goes to infinity of A_n

I recently acquired some pure diethyl ether (not starter fluid) and found that huffing it gives a pleasantly euphoric though short lived effect. My friends and I would like to do it more frequently but I'm a bit concerned about the long term effects. Most of what I've read suggests that it is relatively non toxic but I'm a bit wary of huffing anything so before we do too much I would like to know if there's anything more definitive. Any links or literature you guys can suggest would be much appreciated.

Edit: title should say neurotoxic, not neurotoxin

So I've seen this one popping up from a couple vendors but can't find much info about it, any experiences? It would be nice to see a comparison between it and NEP or hex-en.

Personally I'm not expecting a ton, I'm a little disappointed they decided to go with the straight pentedrone analog rather than the n-ethyl derivative but it could be decent
