• iOS 26 was officially released on September 15, 2025 
• The update introduces a new “Liquid Glass” design language — more translucency, fluid visuals, refreshed icons, widgets & interface elements 
• There are enhancements to built-in apps and core functions: improved Phone & Messages (spam filtering, caller screening, interface tweaks) 
• Also new: the Games app, upgrades to Apple Wallet, Maps, and deeper integration with Apple Intelligence features 
• It focuses heavily on aesthetics as well as functional polish instead of radical new hardware-only features
