Is the host always a player??
On pal world there's a steam app/tool that hosts a dedicated server without a player associated as the host.
recently bought a newer pc and considering putting my old one on my tv or something to play older steam games.
it has a b350 MB, i believe it's a tomahawk
it has 24 GB ram, rx 580 4gb (pretty sure its the 4gb one), and a ryzen 5 1600af
not really sure where i'd want it to get, maybe to play cyberpunk.
how much would it cost to get there?
Specs are
Ryzen 7 7700, 9060xt 16gb, 32gb ram, gigabyte b650m c v3-y1. This is a prebuilt from sky tech that I bought off new egg.
Any time I try to launch an UE5 game it crashes on launch. Sometimes it gets to the title screen but then crashes there. If it gets to the title screen and freezes I can still hear sound and no inputs are being sent (I can't hear the menu changes [I use controller ])
When this happens, im basically forced to reboot, sometimes even needing to hold the power button in.
It'll "close" in task manager, but steam and game pass shows that the game is still stuck running in the background somehow and I can't close/launch it.
I'm pretty sure explorer or something c

any game that I launch on gamepass crashes on launch and then i basically have too reboot my pc.
When i launch the game it just goes to a black screen that I can't alt tab out of. I have to open task manager to "close it" which it closes, but gamepass thinks it's open. My task manager is then frozen once i try to close it, and then my whole pc freezes up and i have to reboot.
Initially i thought this was something to do with my pc so i tried a fresh windows install deleting everything and disabling one drive once it booted up and still, same issues.

So far it's done it with 3 games, when it didn't used to do this and then one day gamepass games just stopped working
I have most of it setup but it fails at finding the local api
i need to have a certain port set to rest or something? No idea what it means. I setup my server without this and later found autopalexpress and decided to give it a shot to easily change settings and other things, but can't detect port 8212. The other stuff in the super admin page are green but that one isn't
I've read game bros is good or gportal.
Wondering what the different server options are and what would be best. Probably would need like 6-8 players and a vanilla experience.
I have some questions.
Are there console commands?
Am I able to restart the server myself or does it happen periodically? I think I read somewhere someone said that get one that reboots cus of a memory leak?
What are some server options other than player size? Tick rate?
I have an older PC, with a ryzen 5 and 24g of ram, would that be able to host? How would I go about making it host if possible?
