Bright light recommendations

General Question/Discussion

I know a lot of ADHDers prefer soft to no light. But I feel like unless there is bright sunlight blasting in my face that I can’t focus/feel inspired while I work.

I have a home office and am looking for a lamp that will make it seem like I have daylight shining in all day, even as the sun moves around my house and I lose the morning light.

Does anyone relate to this or have a recommendation for a lamp (floor or desk) that can do this?

I had to give a big sales presentation for work, which I worked really hard on getting together. During the presentation I kept getting frantic messages from others from my company on the call for me to talk less during my parts and hurry up. Once I got that note, I tried to adjust. The client stopped us when we had 20 minutes left to move on to questions, so some of the team on my side didn’t get to go over their parts. Overall though, they seemed happy and engaged during the question period.

When the call ended I got chewed out because I talked too much, basically, and was told I say too many filler words and focus on the wrong details. This escalated to my boss and so on and so forth.

I worry a lot that I can hardly take care of myself and am unsure if I should have kids because of it. What made the decision clear for you despite your ADHD struggles? Now that you have kids, is it manageable?

I guess conversely, anyone who chose to not have kids because of ADHD, how’s that going for you? Are you happy with the decision, or do you regret it?
