23F. Almost every day I feel ill (fatigue-wise), and my armpit body temperature is 35.4°C. I've been to a ton of doctors, and my labs are fine, including thyroid hormones. The only thing is my lower back pain and mild DDD, but I had had this fatigue way before that. Why do I feel like this?
Ave Maria!
Dear Knights of the Immaculata, I'm going to be consecrated to Our Lady on the Solemnity of Her Immaculate Conception, after a nine-day preparation plan. However, I have a question: I don't really understand if I need to go to Confession tomorrow. The handbook says I may go on the exact day or 'shorty before'. The thing is I went to Confession about two weeks ago, and I don't feel like I should go again, as I'm recovering from scrupulosity and confessing once a month is way more comfortable for me (provided that I didn't commit an actual mortal sin). So, does the 20-day rule (as in obtaining a plenary indulgence) work here?
I could try to ask a priest tomorrow, but I must be amo
I learnt about this website today, and it's truly awesome, I think way more people should know about it.
A brief description from the website itself:
Stall Catchers is an online game that anyone can play - no experience necessary. In the game, you look at movies from the brains of mice and try to identify vessels as flowing or stalled. This helps to speed up Alzheimer's disease research at Cornell University.
I have no medical education and am able to do this, so I'm sure you can, too!
I wanted to find a Christian or a Catholic team there, but it seemed to be none.
How about we create one? Isn't it a work of mercy to partake in this project?
Hello. 23F. I'm currently in a LDR with a guy (20M) who's about to become Catholic this Easter. We're currently not sure about whether we're actually dating or not, as we haven't met in person yet. However, we're going to have our first irl date in about a month.
The thing is, I'm currently in hospital because of the spine damage. I should eventually become able to walk properly again, but it's highly likely that my rehabilitation process isn't going to be swift. And, well, I guess I'll have to use a cane. And I'm so ashamed of it. On daily basis, I only see elderly people using a cane. But me, a young woman...
I don't know how to put this in words further. Sorry, this hospital thing does
Wikipedia says sciatica is mild and you should go on with your everyday life, but in my case, this is NO WAY mild, and I definitely CAN'T go on like this. Every movement that involves my lower body brings pain. Moreover, my right leg numbly hurts all the time. And what's more, I sometimes get leg seizures so intense that they make me cry out loud.
I can't take either muscle relaxants nor NSAIDs as I'm taking Zoloft, and Paracetamol doesn't help at all.
What do I do?..
Hi! I'm an EFL private tutor. I'm not dyslexic, but I'm autistic, and I have a dyslexic sister.
While listening to my newest EFL student read aloud, I noticed some patterns that my sister, who has dyslexia, also manifests (we were talking about her struggles quite recently, so I know this not only from observing, but also from first-hand experience). I asked my student whether she might have dyslexia, and she affirmed it.
She's a very bright student, eager to learn English so that she can visit her cousin in Australia, whom she hasn't seen in a long time. I mean, I was deeply touch by her motivation to learn English!
So, what could I do as an EFL teacher in order to make my student's lear
