Questions about mix-belting

Conversation Topic

hey so i'm an alto who can't mix for the life of me. i have a couple of questions regarding this:

  1. what note do yall start mixing and can't belt any higher? if u respond, i would appreciate if u said ur vocal type too

  2. how the heck do i connect my belt and mix? when i riff (for ex) starting in mix then go down to belt, its sooo obvi and sounds bad. is there a trick or something i should know about how to do this?

  3. how do u make ur mix strong? mine sounds too light, almost like head voice. and if i try to push and make it fuller, my voice in shaky and sometimes I even start coughing bc i get a weird tickle in my throat. is that normal?

thx guyss :)

Hi so I'm a bisexual girl and have never been in a relationship. I'm wondering if guys are opposed to dating queer ppl, but who obvi are still attracted to guys. like, would you not wanna date a girl just bc she's bi/pan/etc?

Altos in theater

Advice Needed

Hi so 2 questions.. :)

  1. pls be 100% honest w me. Do ppl/you look down upon altos in theater? as an alto, i feel like there are never any true alto roles 😓 and i feel like def in this day and age ppl are all about belting super high and all that, but my voice does not function like that no matter how hard i try

  2. on a kinda seperate note, on Broadway, would they change the key for certain actors who need it? like, i know keys have been changed in the past when ive listened to diff albums and compared, like gypsy and anything goes, but are Broadway directors and stuff only open to that with huge stars that are already well known? and are opt downs acceptable? would directors not cast some

Am i on the arospec?

Need Advice :snoo_thoughtful:

hi so im bi but have rlly weird preferences when it comes to liking ppl. for some reason, its easy for me to like guys, but im RLLY picky w girls. like ive only liked one girl my age. its weird but i seem to sometimes like adult women. i dont know why its so hard to be attracted to a girl my age. and it sucks too bc i dont think ill ever be able to get a guy. anyways i think i might be aroflux or aliquaromantic, or maybe just a grey-heteromantic bisexual. is there a more specific term to describe this? thanks a lot :)

Ok so hi im bi, but ive only ever liked one girl. im like very picky w girls specifically idk why, but there's no chance of me being w a guy. i think i might be somewhat aromantic. so when the time comes, is it ok to be in a relationship w someone i dont necessarily have romantic feelings for or a crush on? is it something i should explicitly tell the person? is it a big deal? thanks :)

Hi so I'm gender fluid but AFAB and I'd say I'm feminine presenting most of the time. I'm bi but I think its obvious (bc of my short hair) that im queer and im worried it'll push guys away or make them think im not interested. will it? also will they mind the gender fluid thing and the fact that sometimes i AM more masc? thanks :)

I think I'm going insane. I think life is a simulation. Anyone agree? I also have a rlly big hatred for humanity, but ppl often think I'm crazy for that. I dont understand how life came to be this way and I hate what we've become

Hey, so I'm a 15 year old alto, and genderfluid (AFAB) as well. I'm kinda worried bc I wanna do musical theater professionally in the future, but a lottt of female songs are too high for my voice. I was wondering if it's possible for me to play male roles professionally later on since tenor songs fit my voice better and also considering the fact that im genderfluid and not super feminine. Thank youu. :)

Hi, I'm pretty new to songwriting but wanted to share lyrics to one I recently wrote. I would greatly appreciate suggestions and thoughts. Thanks! :)

Mess VERSE 1 The only thing I wanted was you. I didn’t ask to be played. But you were tricked by your own oblivion. Our knots you now frayed.

You saw my insides on the floor. The least you could’ve done for me is pray. But you threw my remains into hell. I am the mess you made.

PRE-CHORUS Done with crying over this while I hide away, So I’m screaming to the world today:

CHORUS You ruined my life. I’ll remember ‘till I’m 95. Might not fully recover. Maybe a victim of suicide.

I almost made it this time, But now I wanna die. Might not full

Hi, I've recently been looking for ways to get professionally involved with musical theater. A year ago, a professional Broadway actress came into one of my classes and mentioned that she talks a bit lighter to prep for her role and support her voice. Is this a typical thing actors do? Should I maybe aim to speak in a lighter manner (especially considering the fact that I DO sit on my vocal chords when speaking normally)? Thank you!

Hi :) I'm 15 and an alto. I like to sing songs generally sung by men because they better fit my voice. I'm not too strong with belting yet and have been using songs sung my men for multiple school auditions. There've been no issues so far, but I'm a bit worried for the future because I want to do this seriously. How common is it for females to sing male songs at professional auditions? It is ok? Thanks!

Hi yall! I've been gender fluid (AFAB) for a while but now I'm rethinking. Some moments, gender fluidity totally fits who I am. Others, I totally break down cuz I feel like no pronouns feel right.

I'll hate being referred to as a girl and 100% not relate to feminitity. I also would feel uncomfortable with being referred to with any male pronouns bc I just can't imagine myself as a guy. (Sometimes I think I could be trans, but I just can't quite bring myself to imagine myself as a guy. Therefore, I have no way of knowing whether it's right or not.) But I also don't want to be non-binary bc I don't like the idea of not having a gender (in terms of myself, of course). Any advice? Suggestions?

You’re a bitch. You had no fucking right to leave me like that. You didn’t know me. You didn’t know how much I cared for you. How much I was longing for you. I knew you. You were the one. I'd been picturing your silhouette for years but only realized it was you when you appeared in my life. And you just let me down like that. Pushing me back into my dark pit of depression. But you didn’t know how much you would break me. You will never know the extent of pain you caused me. I loved you too much for you to hurt me like that. I still love you. As fucking mad as I am at you, I will never stop loving you. I wish I could. But I know nothing you do could get me to stop. I can’t escape you and the

No one is as worthy of strength and comfort as someone who has experienced and survived pain. No one is cared for as much as someone who has experienced and survived pain. No one is as accomplished as someone who has experienced and survived pain. So I purposely cause myself pain. And I persevere. So I'm worth more. So I'm seen as successful. So I am special. I see others being loved when they communicate their pain, so I intentionally take on their challenges as my own. Any pain I can wrap my head around is appreciated. When I cause myself pain, I am not truly me. I am someone else. I am composed of bits of many different people who cause themselves pain. Their actions are inflicted upon me
