First up, The Killah Bees (travel team) take on their I-95 rivals The Boston Common. This is to be followed by the first home team bout of the season The Mob Squad and last year's league champions the Sakonnet River Roller Rats

Baseball is here, its getting warmer and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting up a softball team?
Just for fun, we win or lose we still get a beer... we'd probably need around 11 players, Co-ed so probably around 3 or 4 females in the line up during the game. Weekends would be nice but week nights work too. If we get enough interest I can find us a league and work out some price, etc.
If that doesn't work out does anyone know any local leagues that have free agent pools? It's been hit and miss with the free agent stuff for me but I am willing give it another try.
I am looking for something instate or a something you can do over the weekend.
A little info:
I've been camping (Catskills, Gunks, Adirondacks) but it would be my gf's first time so something easyish she really likes day hiking and is keen on giving camping a try. I'd prefer something a little backcountry so she gets the experience but it doesn't turn into a ordeal if its not her thing.
Maybe something with a lake or river you could swim in? She'd really like that
Thanks!
With the World Cup coming up in less than a month and with the MLS season in full swing. Which bar in town and around shows matches?
And a huge throw away any Portland Timbers fans in town?
I am moving to Newport by the end of August to attend school there (International Yacht Restoration School) and I've been on this board for a year now and all I see is corrupt officials, shitty laws, shitty people and shitty taxes. In general really negative stuff.
The times I've been in Rhode Island (Newport, Providence area) its been nice and friendly. My question what do you LIKE about Rhode Island and what makes you happy and able to stay in RI without going crazy.
EDIT: Thank you all... finally some good and happy things. I am moving from NYC (Queens) and having lived in Fort Collins, Colorado (pop. about 165k) away from the big city for almost 2 years before moving back this Febr
Fort Collins Foxes are a collegiate summer baseball team that play in City Park South Field, 211 S. Bryan Avenue in Fort Collins.
Season starts May 31st and tickets cost 6 bucks.
I am def going to go check a game out. If you see a guy in a blue fitted Mets hat thats me, say hello.
To start off I am a Aston Villa and a big Portland Timbers fan from NYC (internationally I follow Poland, USA, the Netherlands).
With the World Cup 98 days away, with the EPL seasons end slowly approaching and the MLS season beginning in 2 days.
I am wondering if there are any other fans about? Doesn't matter who you support or what league you prefer as long as you like watching. I'd just really like to make some new friends and watch a couple games (if we could go to the Timbers vs. Rapids game that would be even sweeter!) Also any good bars that have soccer on live... I am tired of watching a shitty stream online.
Also who would be up to play some pick up soccer? 3 on 3? Nothing crazy
I've googled and read reviews but nothing too relative.
I have two men's suits I would like tailored (simple stuff: pant cuffs hemmed and a suit button moved).
Any one have advice/help?
Thanks.
Hey,
My name is Stan, I am 27 and I live in Fort Collins, Colorado but I am moving to Rhode Island or Washington in Sept '14... I lived in NYC for 17 years till Sept '13 and I moved to NYC from Poland when I was nine in 1995.
I am into photography (I used to have a darkroom back in NYC), carpentry, reading (biographies, autobiographies, history, non-fiction ehhh anything that sounds fairly interesting). I like riding my bike, I like different teas, I like cooking and baking (my wife is gluten-free so I have to maneuver around that), I like most of the major sports (NY Islanders, Nets, Mets, Jets, Portland Timbers in the MLS and Aston Villa in the EPL... if you're interested), I can read
