Hello friends. Wanted to ask as I haven't encountered this before.

My church is very Anglo-Catholic, I'm... not, or not entirely, but I'm very happy there and so far it's seemed a tolerant place where different theological opinions are accepted. The teaching is good, the congregation is loving and welcoming, I really feel I'm among good Christians. I just skip the Hail Marys.

We are having a mass today for the Solemnity of the Assumption. We were informed on Sunday in the notices it is a 'Day of Obligation' and we are expected to attend the mass, consequences of not doing so unspecified. I've never really encountered this in the Church of England, I thought it was a RC thing.

Blocked a buyer for repeat lowballs, annoying begging messages and having a dubious feedback history.

She was still able to buy my item at full price - several minutes AFTER I blocked her.

Contacted support but got the usual unhelpful AI waffle.

Do I just have to eat a 1 star review for cancelling? I don’t want to sell to her, already getting non-collector/missing parcel/‘it arrived broken!’ vibes.

I feel like I followed the process correctly and still end up penalised.

I sold a skirt about a week ago. Bought for £40, sold for £6, worn once. It's one of those artesanal Indian block printed ones. Very pretty.

Anyway, it came back to me as the buyer's chosen inpost locker was closed so parcels were getting rejected and returned - a bit annoying but no worries. I re-listed, reserved and sold it to her again at her request as she confirmed she really wanted it.

She's now received it and doesn't like it: 'It is huge, masses of fabric, I look ridiculous in it, I really don’t know if I’ll be as successful as you in reselling it, especially at that price.'

This listing photos were clear, I photographed it spread out so you could see it was a full circle skirt, o

Hello, I recently read Will I Ever Be Good Enough?: Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers by Karyl McBride and found it enlightening. I want to log it as read, but not have the details appear in my history (as my mother follows me on GoodReads and I don't particularly want to have that conversation). Is there a way to do that?

I, 38F, am on second spell of no-contact with my narc-traits mother. We had a six month estrangement in 2021 and now, after years of mostly-okay behaviour, a strict info diet and heavy use of the grey rock, she's done it again.

First week as usual, felt dreadful - just constant on-edge alertness, what's she going to do now, 'oh shit is that her car', etc.

3 weeks in - I've had this sudden and uncharacteristic surge of energy. I got into watching mountaineering videos recently which may have given me the nudge. I remembered that, while I'm not going to be scaling K2 any time soon, I really love to hike.

I had some leave from work coming up so I booked a city day trip, a coast day trip,

Use Experience 📝

Just wanted to share my experience one month in.

Female, late 30s, about 150lbs. Health issues: ASD, and some lingering effects from a bout of COVID in 2023. No meds. I do take supplements - iron, multivitamin, fish oil. Starting Lions Mane too but wanted to stagger them so I could get an objective view of the Ashwagandha.

Goals: clear up brain fog, reduce anxiety, improve concentration, energy and sleep

Product: British Supplements Clean Ashwagandha Withanolides 429.3mg per capsule. Recommended dose is 2 a day, I'm taking 1 to begin with. Not an affiliate. Bought them myself after researching different options.

Week 1: Began taking these one a day in the evening. Within 2 days I was

Hello, got a Verse Pro, love it, especially the text-to-speech. I'm devouring books. My favourite voice is Mason.

Is there a quicker way to connect to my Bluetooth headphones other than: Home button, apps, settings, Bluetooth? Like, from within Read mode?

TIA.

My church today offers Mass of the Lord's Supper, Procession to the Altar of Repose, and Watch.

I'm a Watch first-timer. What to expect?

I've been asked to assist with social media posting for my church, to take some of the burden off the PCC and reach people who may not know we exist. So far, this involves a Facebook page, although may branch out into other platforms. We're a traditional Anglo-Catholic church in Yorkshire.

Any tips? Pitfalls to avoid? (I get the feel we're going for dignified and respectful, so I'll keep my spicy memes and theological hot takes to myself)

Hello. I'm trying to decide which Pocketbook is best. I'm on a budget, Era is £200, BL4 £100. Both financially doable, but I'm trying to figure out if the Era has £100 more features and if it'll be a better investment. I try to replace tech as infrequently as possible. I'm still on a 2013 Kindle, which I have decided to move on from due to reasons already well-discussed.

From my research so far, it looks like the Basic Lux will do 90% of what I want - I like the small size, mechanical clicky buttons and reasonable price. BUT, text-to-speech is really tempting me. I use this a lot on my phone/iPad via the accessibility settings (VoiceOver) and just cope with the slightly robotic voice - has

Sorry, it's a DuoLingo post. I use a habit app to help me do my daily activities, and I want to subtitle my Romanian lesson reminder with some actual Romanian encouragement (and be a bit silly in the process).

I have provisionally come up with 'don't anger the green owl' - 'nu mânia bufnița verde'. Am I correct? Totally wrong? Is there a more natural way to say it?

Mulțumesc foarte mult.

I’m considering 'church hopping', or not settling at one church but visiting different ones regularly. Is this okay?

I've tried with my local church (C of E), but 18 months in, I still feel out of place. The atmosphere feels very middle-class and money-oriented, which isn’t me, but more than that, I'm just not sure I get on with 'church culture' outside of worship. I’m autistic, so small talk is tough (especially about grandchildren, golf, cars and properties - I have no relatable life experience!). Despite trying to get involved in volunteering and socials, unstructured social events are challenging for me, and volunteering arrangements seem completely chaotic. It's wearing me out and I ju
