I’m at 26 days without the love of my life, my one - he was only 38. I’ve stayed away from home for as long as I could. Now that I’m back, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to live in this town without him. I don’t want to live in this house without him. He had such an enormous, giving, loving way about him. He was a giant. It’s just so empty and painful here now.

Until it’s me singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With the school bells a-ringing, and friends a-screaming before the bell riiiiiings. It’s the most wonderful time of the yeeaaar!”, taking her to school this morning.

Hello,

I don’t know if I’m in the right place, I sure hope so.

My little sister has had a serious problem with alcohol for the past ~7 years. I tried to be there for her. I drove her to meetings, and sat with her. I answered all the phone calls, I ran to help every time. A couple of years ago, it started getting really bad. I couldn’t have that around my kid, so we went very low contact. We saw each other at family events, I went to help when my parents called, we randomly texted. I know I wasn’t there for her like I should have been, but I couldn’t have that around my family.

Today, she checked into inpatient treatment, her choice. I’m so proud of her, and we did talk before she left,
